Tell me what you're supposed to be doing vs what you're actually doing

I'm supposed to be: gardening. There's wigwams to make, about a hundred bloody borage seedlings to pull up, a patio to be weeded, and the strawberries need mulching.

I'm actually: sitting in the sun eating an ice cream. And I don't plan on moving when I've finished it, either.

Should be working (for myself) or painting skirting boards.

I'm actually watching Love Island.

Should be (in order): working on the significant project I was hired to tackle, but since I can't working on a boring side project.

But as my manager is off and can't give me feedback and I've only been here a couple of weeks, I'm half arsing the side project and MNing.

Should be Working on a report, googled a formula and sent me into a quick check on everything except work- gonna be a late one!

Should be doing my huge list of admin / forms which will take at least 3 hrs if not more ....

Instead sat on the sofa drinking tea and scrolling on mumsnet - hate forms.

Need to get ready for the cleaner too - but just can't be bothered

I'm "training" whilst wfh...watching a YouTube tutorial.
And surfing mumsnet obviously.
And eating Pringles because I decided my diet starts tomorrow.

I'm supposed to be getting ready for evening shift but I'm pratting about on my phone .

I’m supposed to be doing some e-learning for a course tomorrow, and cleaning the bathroom. I’m sitting on the sofa eating an ice cream 😊

I'm supposed to be writing a script for a film that's being made of a community event on Saturday. I've never wrote a script in my life. I've had two goes at it but am taking a rest - skiving - to chill out on mn for a while, before I try and finish it so it can be emailed tonight. I've also got a chest infection that is somehow affecting my brain, because nothing makes sense.

Hand washing some tops to put outside while it’s sunny. I’ve just made a cup of tea and I’m perusing mn instead!

Doing online training on Lone Working (worthy but I've done it a billion times before and honestly you'd think I was being sent to the backstreets of London in 1876). I'm actually getting distracted here...

I'm meant to giving an all day online work course my full attention on a PC.

I'm actually just listening to it while I do actual work on my laptop because I've got far too much on for this nonsense.

Maybe I should get an ice cream, and a life.

I'm supposed to be on my roof garden - unfortunately a pigeon has taken to its death bed right next to the door so I can't get out. It is a very unwell bird. ☹️

I'm supposed to be downstairs tending the garden, digging and general maintenance. I got lost on the way for a wee and I've ended up in my sewing room making a dress 😊

Supposed to be making blackout blinds and/or going for a run.

Instead I’m on MN and also arguing online with amazon about a missing return.

I should be writing up a lengthy report, following a long piece of work this morning and an hour’s commute each way. I’m actually buying a gauzy cashmere wrap from Brora. Lovely, but buying cashmere don’t pay the bills!

Supposed to be doing a mountain of ironing and altering a dress (which I really want to wear, but needs some complicated tailoring). Cannot get my head in the right place to do either, so watching cycling on GCN, playing online games, and browsing MN. I can multi-task the unproductive stuff no problem, but cannot seem to force myself to do just one productive chore 😂

Working on a report that only needs proofing and last minute checks. Instead surfing MN. It's too hot to work.

Usually finishing work paperwork but all done so lazing around waiting for school pick up

I just need to finish this and then I can go for a sit in the park with an icecream. But it's sooo hard... and I know it will come back with 500 corrections.

Supposed to be organising a work summer party i don't want to go to.

Actually having a cold drink and a fag in the garden and about to call a colleague for a massive bitching session. Which could count as work, I suppose...

Supposed to be sorting out a kitchen cupboard full of crap. Am actually lying on the sofa, drinking tea and eating crisps while scrolling MN

I should be ironing but I am having an angry email exchange with the local council about the way they have fucked up my booking for one of their sports facilities for a big event I'm organising. Clothes likely to remain unironed for a long time as I have a lot to do to make sure the event can now still run, and not much time to do it in. I'm so angry I actually cried.

I'm procrastinating on a big work submission. Could be done with by 6. Instead I'm on mn and will be finishing before the midnight deadline.
