I'm just having breakfast (Lidl superberry granola, if anyone's interested - it's full of berries!), and waiting for my first cuppa to brew. I'm in my kitchen spot, with the window open so I can hear the birds, and I've seen the robin flitting about already.

I have a very quiet day planned, mostly pottering & catching up some washing. I'm going to sit and do some crafting with dd2 who has a diamond painting on the go but doesn't seem interested unless she has someone to chat to.

Dd1's finally off to pick a prom dress 🥳 She's been holding off for me being well enough to go but I haven't got it in me to sit in a busy shop atm, so is going with her dad instead. They've been warned about going over budget & any alterations needing to be simple so I can do them since I think the shop in town will be pushed for time now 🙄

She needs a bag and shoes too - I'm usually exceptionally organised & it's all got away from me for this 😢

Later on we'll probably all just do our own thing. I'll either crochet or read, dd2 will likely call her friend & try to beat their "record" time, and dd1 will watch more Vampire Diaries again.

I'm considering buying us takeaway for tea from my favourite Chinese 😋 Last time we had one, I was struggling to eat much & didn't really enjoy it that much. Will see if anyone wanted to cook first though 🤔🤣

What about all of you? 🙂

Afternoon @lucysmam bit late today. Having a chilled weekend after a busy half-term.
In the garden for a bit. Finally, put the peas/mangetout in the ground and did sine wedding and general tidying.
Probably a sport on telly afternoon. F1 qualifying, and the English and Scottish Cup finals (DH's home team are playing)

Natsku · 03/06/2023 12:54

It was DD's last day of school today (they always finish the school year on a Saturday, for the end of year party) so got up early to help her pick out something nice to wear (as she suddenly decided late last night that the usual joggers and hoodie wouldn't do). She came home with a very good report so took her out for sushi and ice cream as a reward.

DS is currently playing with lego, OH is watching tv, I'm drinking tea and waiting for OH's film to finish so I can play Zelda for a bit.

Going to heat up the sauna tonight to properly celebrate the start of the summer holidays and later on I'm going out as my town has opened a new bar for people over 35 and its opening night tonight with an 80s/90s disco - cannot wait!

lucysmam · 03/06/2023 13:02

I've found two tea cosy patterns I like...just need to decide which one should adorn my new pot first 🤔

Dd and I are getting our nails done for a Taylor Swift concert tomorrow.
I'm not the best with huge crowds so a little apprehensive for tomorrow, she is just super excited.

TobiasForgesContactLense · 03/06/2023 13:15

Loving the teapot and cosy ideas @lucysmam

I have taken DS to his swimming lesson this morning then had lunch. Off to the local High Street for a few bits in a mo then calling into the library. Hopefully see a bit of the cup final later although I am not a fan of either team. Then macaroni cheese for dinner. Didn't have chance to watch The Gallows Pole or Sewing Bee in the week so will watch one of those later with a glass of wine.

Hi Lucy's mam ☺ my middle child is on the couch- nasty virus with a temp of 38.5. Thank goodness for calpol! My eldest left school yesterday!! He'll be 18 in September. He's watching the Manchester United final at 3pm then going to his cousin 's this evening to watch more football. My youngest is on her laptop. I've been sunbathing for the last 2 hrs( I collapsed last sat so can't drive until my hospital appointment! ) I said to my youngest we'd go to b and m today ( do this every sat) and she reminded me I can't drive! B and m is 7 miles from us just about to feed the masses lunch and oh should be finished work about 4pm. Loving this weather 😍 hope u all have a lovely sat and look after yourself Lucy'smam xxx

listsandbudgets · 03/06/2023 13:26

It's boiling l.

DP is working. DS is in cool sitting room on his tablet. DD is at a university open day.

I'm sitting in garden reading in between washing everything that moght need washing and changing all the beds. Almost evrything drying within an hour
Dog is out here too. We can't go for a walk as she was poisoned by something nasty ( vet worried may be deliberate as hes seen several identical cases recently) and needs to stay at home on special diet for 3 days. She's quite miserable.

Ukrainian guests (long term been here 14 months ) .. 2.at work ( cleaning hotel hope its.got air con) and 15 year old in room doing a maths lesson.. his teacher on front line but still finding g time to teach remotely when he can.

Thinking I should feed children don't feel like cooking

8 for dinner.. Ukrainians x 3, my DCs x 2, DDs friend and DP. and me . think a big salad dish all round d too hot for much else.

Red arrows flying over at about 5.30 so will drag everyone down to watch them andYbe get ice creams.

Too hot to do much constructive

Rainbowsandfairies · 03/06/2023 13:29

Love your Saturday threads- been following them since last year. I think about you a lot and hope your chemo is going ok- really hope you're not feeling too rough. Take care 🙂

lucysmam · 03/06/2023 13:40

@lakesummer omg have a fantastic time! My dd1 is a big TS fan & is marking off surprise songs as she performs them - we're hoping she gets to a point where she has to go through them again when she gets to the UK! I may have purchased myself a sparkly shift dress in preparation 🤣 (for the princely sum of £1 plus postage on Vinted in case we don't manage to get tickets).

@Rainbowsandfairies I'm not feeling at all rough which has really surprised me! I'm feeling really good today - pretty much back to normal me. Long may it continue 🤞

Thanks @lucysmam I bought some skinny black jeans ( I'm going reputation era) but it is mid 80's here so I'm off to look for some shorts because I'm going to melt.
I totally underestimated the whole Taylor thing although the 7.5 hours wait online for tickets should have told me something!

The cottage core tea cosy is my favorite.

CosmosQueen · 03/06/2023 13:56

Oh @lucysmam , those tea cosies! 😍😍
I think I will dig out my teapot and bits instead of dunking a tea bag in a mug, how sophisticated are we!

CosmosQueen · 03/06/2023 13:57

Thank you @Awrite , I have to say that I still feel pretty ropey….bloody men!

Rainbowsandfairies · 03/06/2023 14:12

I'm soooo pleased for you @lucysmam ! Wonderful news. I've not been feeling well for weeks and collapsed on Saturday ( was scary for my youngest as I was playing with her at the time!) Meant to be on 2 week referral pathway but appointment is 28th June! Originally, it was the 2nd August but I pleaded with them for a cancellation. Your thread has given me hope ! I've read your sat morning threads for over a year now. My auntie * aged 53) had breast cancer a few yrs ago but is in remission now!! My poor Mum died from it in 1999 ! Treatment is so much better nowadays! 😌 sending u 💓

Rainbowsandfairies · 03/06/2023 14:15

Loving ❤ the tea cosies !! Tea always makes the day better!! X

CharlotteStreetW1 · 03/06/2023 14:23

Was drinking wine last night (unusually for me, I'm normally a gin girl) so was quite hungover this morning (also unusually for me). Couldn't get back to sleep so got up to see DH off to work and then did some housework and had a cup of tea in the garden. DH is back an is weeding and I was hoping to sit out there but it's a bit chilly now. Might do some ironing. Might not!

DH and I are going out to dinner tonight so I'm pondering what to wear.

ilovebagpuss · 03/06/2023 14:43

So nice to see one of your threads pop up @lucysmam and I do hope you are feeling ok and enjoy your chinese. Hope your DD gets a nice outfit for prom. My DD did pick a dress but later in the year she said she didn't want to go, she was sorry as we had bought a dress I said that's ok we can always sell the dress next year.
I think it's just too much fuss and pomp for her to cope with.
Today has been revision in the sun. DH has popped to finish some work for one of his gardens.
Lots of washing out drying. Not sure what to do so just enjoying a rest!

Namechangeed · 03/06/2023 14:51

Watching my son's first teeth cut through like an eagle! I'm very excited....my life is really uneventful at the moment 🤣

Gingerbeerfear · 03/06/2023 15:03

Food shopping done this morning ready for packed lunches next week. Omelette for lunch with lots of herbs which I kept going and have planted out, they were all reduced potted ones from Lidl.

Enjoying a cold glass of Fentimans dandelion & burdock (was on offer in Waitrose) on my recliner in the garden. Very rural so not much noise apart from the birdies and ddog launching himself into the hedge intermittently after pretend prey (I hope).

homemade very garlicky pasta sauce with spaghetti later. Been a half term of beaches and activity so having a chill out day today.

mirages08 · 03/06/2023 15:14

Lovely to hear from you @lulucysmam glad you're feeling well x

Spent the morning cleaning and washing- love the sight of clean bedding on the line :)

I've been in my summerhouse reading and may shortly go back...

Dh has taken ds1 to a summer job interview and ds2 is upstairs not revising maths for his y9 test next week 🙃

Home made fish and chips for tea

OldTinHat · 03/06/2023 15:15

Afternoon all!

I'm back from my holiday, so I have been busy unpacking, washing and catching up on my soaps. The supermarket is delivering later but I do miss my evening three course meal!

I'm going to watch the local sheep dog trials with a friend tomorrow, so must rustle up something for a picnic when my shopping arrives.

Myn · 03/06/2023 15:18

The myn house is struck down with the summer lurgy, I was given a lie in this morning then my husband went back to bed for a couple of hours whilst I entertained the daughter, husband watching footie now whilst I clean up ~scrol Mumsnet~

ThreeRingCircus · 03/06/2023 16:25

I was up early this morning and had a cup of coffee and marmite on toast for breakfast.

We then took DDs to the park for a play and to let them run off some energy. The park has a café attached so we stopped for some lunch there.

Then home and DH did some laundry as I lay in the sun outside and DDs were watching cartoons. He's a good'un.

I'm now at the hairdressers getting a much needed haircut and once done will go home and make pizzas for dinner and curl up on the sofa with DH and DDs and watch a film.

A good day!

lucysmam · 03/06/2023 19:15

I hope you've all had a lovely day. It's been nice and chilled here - I've done some crochet and diamond painting with dd2, in the garden, pottered about and sorted a drawer, and washed my tea set for the morning 😊

We've just had Chinese takeaway & about to get showers before I have another early ish night <yawn>

Unfortunately, the prom shop dd wanted to go to was shut due to covid & taking appointments only but we've tried ringing several times with no answer 🤷‍♀️ We'll try ringing again tomorrow.
