How much would you expect to pay for a one off deep clean of a 2 bed flat?

iloveeverykindofcat · 02/06/2023 05:20

Including:
shampooing 4 carpets
3 sets of curtains
6 windows, interior and exterior
oven

Give me a ballpark figure. Trying to figure out if the quote I got is reasonable 🤔

I’m basing this on a two bedroom flat I had cleaned, not a 2 bed flat in a mansion.
Carpets £50-60 per room, say £250 max.
Curtains would depending on washing/ironing or dry cleaning, and size of curtains, say £25 per pair minimum. £75, more if very big.
Window cleaning £50-60
Oven. I paid £60 last year.

cherrypied · 02/06/2023 05:37

Carpets, curtains and oven would be £100 each to do separately so there is £300 and 20 for a window clean. Plus. One off deep clean ballpark £200?

So £500 plus. Is it end of tenancy clean?

This is pure conjecture though I've never had a quote just seen adverts for carpets and oven. Curtain to dry clean are around £30 per pair.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/06/2023 05:41

I'd say around £500 - £600.

iloveeverykindofcat · 02/06/2023 05:42

No, not end of tenancy, just something I've been saving up to get done for myself. Thanks for the estimates so far! I'll say what I was quoted when I get a few more responses but don't want to influence them.

Sounds a lovely treat! I think end of tenancy have an extra premium on them so it would be dearer.

Interested to see the results!

pippabg · 02/06/2023 06:39

Just paid £150 for deep clean, but that's with no carpets and windows. To be honest, the standard wasn't very good so I'd be prepared to spend more if we were to do it again. Estimates were around £250-300 when we included carpets. We asked a few places.

Hillrunning · 02/06/2023 06:48

I'd expect a big range. Anywhere between £400 and £1000 depending on turn around expected. My local laundry place charges £40-60 for a pair of curtains. But it jumps to £100 if you want it same day.

iloveeverykindofcat · 02/06/2023 07:17

Okay the quote I got was just under 500 so seems about right. Not having a holiday this year as one of my cats is now elderly and seems to want to stay closer to me: she's always been a bit of a one person cat but I guess she doesn't feel as physically confident as she once did so I think it wouldn't be fair to leave her now. So this will be for the start of my 'staycation' in July.

I think £500 is about right tbh. Particularly if they’re doing curtains etc for that.

CraneBoysMysteries · 02/06/2023 07:23

I also agree that it sounds about right. Especially if including washing carpets.

What a treat! I'm jealous!

Hope your cat is ok OP

FrontEnd · 02/06/2023 07:25

I remember last time I had one the price was dependent on property being empty (easier & faster for them to do) and also included a guarantee to return and complete if anything was missed (which they did need to do even though very good!). So I'd just look out for that in the T&C's.

You sound lovely and your cat is lucky to have you.

iloveeverykindofcat · 02/06/2023 07:25

@CraneBoysMysteries she's fine thanks! Still healthy, just ageing, and not as fast as she was, which I guess will come to us all in time!

HerodAntipasti · 02/06/2023 07:29

We need to see a picture of your cat! Please.

iloveeverykindofcat · 02/06/2023 07:40

@FrontEnd aw thank you. We've been together a long time through many life changes so she deserves to be spoiled now. Im on mobile now but will add pics later, but the older one is a dainty little calico. I also have a black and white girl, a sort of charismatic criminal mastermind who'd be fine with anything feeding her tbh

cherrypied · 02/06/2023 08:02

It's a great idea! I think the carpets, curtains and oven push it up - you could get specialists in to do those but having it down all in one sounds amazing!

Enjoy your holiday!

activelytrying · 02/06/2023 08:32

I was charged £150 for a deep clean but that didn't include carpets/curtains/oven etc. I would say about £300 would be fair if you included everything.

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/06/2023 08:33

We’re having our three bed done before we move in. 6 hours at £25ph, they are providing materials and equipment.

SpringNotSprung · 02/06/2023 08:35

I think that sounds reasonable.

SwedishDeathClearance · 02/06/2023 08:39

You wouldn't get a quote from 1 person
Carpet cleaners don't usually window clean
Curtains can go to a dry cleaner
Use a specialist oven company -they are usually brilliant

Breaking it down would be cheaper

Starseeking · 02/06/2023 09:01

£250 plus VAT, so £300 all in.

EmmaEmerald · 02/06/2023 09:04

OP "Not having a holiday this year as one of my cats is now elderly and seems to want to stay closer to me"

I'm the fucking ice queen and this sentence has melted me into a puddle on the floor.

sorry, I don't know about cleaning prices but hope you get a good price.

SixKeys · 02/06/2023 09:27

I paid 150 for an end of tenancy clean a few months ago for a similar sized property.

iloveeverykindofcat · 02/06/2023 09:45

Quite a range then! I just got another quote for 420. To be fair they will have to move furniture
