What would you eat?
Total Fantasy Disclaimer : Like say food had no nutritional requirement and was neutral in it's effects, and only existed to give us pure energy. We would also have to assume all foods gave the exact same energy so no hierarchies could exist. Grin

I personally would eat peanut butter toasties often, not that I don't partake already, but much more often. I would also eat a LOT of Tesco Finest Pizza. I'm not to fussed about sugar but I would gorge on the savouries; cheese, fancy oily crackers and mayo.
I also love salad and would likely compliment this with a mountain of frites or sausage. & OMG SAUSAGE ROLLS!
Maybe I would eat like Elvis, for a short time.

In reality, I love my food and enjoy it, but for health reasons I do opt for moderation, and would probably get tired of excess pretty fast.

Aaaand another disclaimer - this is lighthearted fun.

Meant cod lol

Mommasgotabrandnewbag · 27/05/2023 18:43

Roast dinners. With everything on them.

Paneer curry with big fluffy naans.

Fish and chips with mushy peas.

Macaroni cheese with onion, bacon, garlic and mushroom topping.

Gammon, butter filled mashed potatoes, peas and thick parsley sauce

Paella

Oh wait, that's this week's menu. No wonder I'm a fat fuck 😂😂😂

WingBingo · 27/05/2023 18:45

All the chips
All the crisps
All the cream, with anything.

Assuming we're also ignoring environmental and ethical concerns: burgers and steaks. Loads of posh burgers - 5 Guys in particular, and posh burgers cooked at home with brioche buns, wilted spinach and mushrooms and lashings of bearnaise sauce (I realise that the mushrooms and spinach are Not In The Spirit but for me no burger or steak is complete without them).

WakeMeUpWhenGoodOmensIsBack · 27/05/2023 18:50

And biscuits. Can't remember the last time I had a biscuit.

sweetcarolinedadada · 27/05/2023 18:52

I would eat the same - I love vegetables and carbs - but I would add more condiments and extras like cheese 🧀

I am absolutely obsessed with dips like sour cream and chive but have to limit them. That would change.

I'd also eat more scones for breakfast!

StrugglingWeight · 27/05/2023 18:53

Mayonnaise. So much mayonnaise. And cheese

I'd have delicious bakery bread with literally an inch think of proper salted butter

Proper sandwiches with meats, cheese, salad and loads of mayonnaise. Like proper baguettes

I'd drink milk, maybe the odd chocolate milkshake.

I'd have pork belly, sausages, black pudding all the time. Kebabs with cheese chips

I'd still have plenty of veg but would have loads of French dressing on my salad, and butter with plenty of salt on all my veg.

StrugglingWeight · 27/05/2023 18:54

Oh also crisps with cheese and chive dip

StrugglingWeight · 27/05/2023 18:56

I think I'd basically just put cheese, butter and mayonnaise on everything 😋

Paninis. Work do this amazing panini but it's nearly 1000kcal. I'd have that every day, maybe with a tomato soup.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 27/05/2023 18:56

Cheeseburgers.
Taramasalata
Peanut butter
Wine

Worldgonecrazy · 27/05/2023 18:56

Im blessed to really love healthy food. So my comfort food is lentil salad. I could eat that every day.

I also love cheese. We have a gorgeous local cheddar called Twanger which is something akin to heaven on a plate. When I was younger I always promised myself that one day I would be able to buy as much cheese as I wanted, and not have to settle for the cheapest soapy cheddar. Twanger, a good goats cheese, some sourdough charcoal cracker, a good red wine is my weekend treat.

MMBaranova · 27/05/2023 18:56

O'Donnells Tipperary Crisps. On a flavours rotation.

Lemonyfuckit · 27/05/2023 18:57

Pasta. All of the pasta.
Steak, mashed potatoes, salad and avocado
Sunday roast with bottomless gravy
Ice cream
Dips (guacamole, hummus, taramasalata) with endless nice bread to dip in it

Madamecastafiore · 27/05/2023 18:59

Cereal would literally be the only thing I'd eat because I'm lazy and have no interest in food. As it is part of job is to not look like someone who only exists on cereal it's a pipe dream!

Lemonyfuckit · 27/05/2023 18:59

Garrrg this thread is dangerous. I'm both trying to lose weight as I am overweight, and very hungry.

Mistymountain · 27/05/2023 19:03

Waffles with maple syrup and cream for breakfast. Cheese and ham or onion toasties with french fries for lunch followed by coffee and walnut cake. Dinner - curries with all the trimmings or pasta with garlic bread or pizza. Sticky toffee pudding or tiramisu to finish.

ChillinwiththeVillains · 27/05/2023 19:05

I think I would try not to cook for as long as possible! UPFs for every meal. Cheaper, quicker so much less cleaning or effort. I’d gain a couple of hours every day easy I reckon.
In terms of food to eat I think I would have aperitifs before supper, wine witu and a cocktail after (assuming alcohol also has no effect on my liver or general health). I might also have regular afternoon teas, Chinese takeaways, chips, pizza. And I am an original crunchy mum with all the organic food and greens and who drinks maybe twice a month! But clearly if I knew we would also stay healthy I would sack off packed lunch effort or home made soup or kefir!
Interesting question. Back to kale and chicken for supper now though.

namechange1986 · 27/05/2023 19:07

Toast with butter and jam for breakfast (Warburtons thick bread)

Panini with coronation chicken and cheese, also coleslaw (very creamy homemade kind)

Then chips cheese and korma sauce, chicken pakora and chicken tikka pizza

Snacks would be all the crisps and dips. Nachoes too with chicken, and all the trimmings.

Ambertonix · 27/05/2023 19:13

Crisps and then more crisps followed by a chippy chip chaser!

SquigglePigs · 27/05/2023 19:21

A lot more sausages and cheese! More garlic bread.

Chip butties for lunch on a regular basis. And good Cornish pasties and pies.

Lots of curries and naan bread. And Chinese salt and pepper chicken.

More puddings and ice cream!

Full English breakfasts every weekend for sure.

TheodoreMortlock · 27/05/2023 19:43

Since you've already managed to get rid of any negative health impact I'm sure you will have no trouble in also ensuring that food has no environmental impact and also is completely humane. In which case I'll be feasting on fish and chips - the sort cooked in beef dripping - and sausage sandwiches, thick white bread with real butter and brown sauce filled with farm shop sausages.

PucketyPuckPuck · 27/05/2023 19:45

Bacon, chocolate and pancakes with banana.

SirenSays · 27/05/2023 19:47

Praline truffles
Herby cheese and black pepper crackers
Soft chocolate chip cookies
Steak with garlic butter sauce
BLTs in giant soft rolls
White hot chocolate
Caramel milkshakes

ManonDe · 27/05/2023 19:51

Dark rye bread smeared with thick butter and an absolute coating of proper caviar.

With black coffee and a glass of cognac.

This was apparently my grandmother's usual breakfast when she lived in the former soviet union.

She talked about it until the day she died.
