Good Morning All! What's everyone up to on this beautiful day?

I'm just eating breakfast, in my spot in the kitchen. The window's open & washer's on. I can hear some of the neighbours dc's playing outside already & the birds in the trees. Lovely 😊

Today will be a lazy day for me, after my second chemo yesterday. We have some garden furniture being delivered so maybe a steady tidy up out there & then the girls dad will put it together. My dad might visit for a cuppa this afternoon so maybe we'll test it out!

The girls are off to town together afaik. We don't need anything much - they have a small list of bits to pick up, dd2 wants to buy herself a handbag in Primarni, and I've asked for a bit more fruit from the market.

Not sure what's for tea yet, we'll see how I feel later before we make that decision. Whatever I fancy, the girls will more than likely go along with anyway.

What about all of you? 🌞

Friend's coming down, lots of washing to do and a house to clean before she arrives. No wine later as will be on taxi duty for DD.

I'm glad the docs figured out what was going on. Sending all positive vibes for your treatment 💐

Blip · 27/05/2023 12:02

Lazy day here. Had a long lie in then got up to marinade chicken and ribs for an easy dinner tonight.
About to do a meal plan for the week and place the online shopping order.
Aiming to follow this with a lazy bath and a gentle walk with DH.
Originally wanted to go to London today but there seem to be endless rail strikes still and I can't be doing with bus links.

BobsYerAunty · 27/05/2023 12:06

I had a mini lie-in, coffee with a friend and am now having a pedicure Grin.

Going home to laze about for a bit afterwards, maybe in the garden if it warms up a bit. Really tired from work this week!

DH is out today/tonight, so I’m taking my teens to the cinema and for pizza tonight. Looking forward to spending some time with them.

HorribleHisTories15 · 27/05/2023 12:10

Had a lazy morning with laundry and been out in the garden with the kids. Making lunch now and will be off to tennis family day this afternoon. DH at work sadly

AlanJohnsonsBeemer · 27/05/2023 12:16

Hope you don’t feel too rough @lucysmam, I love your threads. We went to Park Run this morning, I did my second worst time ever 😂. Just doing some chores then going shopping and to the garden centre (just realised your Saturday threads also show me how middle aged I am now). Tonight we are taking advantage of DD being old enough for us to leave her at home for a couple of hours and meeting friends for tacos then coming back here for drinks.

Caledoniablue · 27/05/2023 12:24

Hope you're feeling OK @lucyslucysmam

Dh is working today til about 9/10pm so it's just me and 2yo ds. We've had a lovely lazy morning doing some laundry and ds playing with his trucks. Just about to go out with a friend to help her pick a bed for her new house, we'll get some lunch there.
Will take ds to the park on the way home, then we are going to have lasagna and salad for dinner and hopefully ds will go to sleep early as we're trialling no naps today!

Tidsleytiddy · 27/05/2023 12:32

Third load of washing on. I’ve just watered my plants front and back. Will be watching the play-off final for a place in the Premier League later this afternoon. Making a linguine dish from Hello Fresh later. DS2 and his gf are heading out to Greenwich in a bit to enjoy the sun and DS1 is going to his pal’s for a bbq

Rainbowsandfairies · 27/05/2023 13:32

Hi Lucy 's mam

We were at b and m this morning getting a birthday present etc. Youngest has a party at 2pm. Eldest is on a 10 hr hike with Guides and my son played in a football match this morning.
Hope you have an enjoyable and restful day 😊

CeriB82 · 27/05/2023 13:57

Just got out of bed. I got up at 3am for a mountain sunrise. Then hone for breakfast then washed up and pottered, then a nap. Out to friends tonight for a few hours. Them early to bed

Myn · 27/05/2023 15:33

Saw my best friend for some shopping this morning now we're being very quiet whilst my almost toddler has a nap (don't move... Don't even breath if you don't absolutely need to)

CaramelicedLatte · 27/05/2023 15:45

Good afternoon, @lucysmam, I’m so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I hope you’re getting plenty of support. Your morning/day sounds lovely and peaceful.

We had a lie in this morning, then DH cooked scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast. DD and I went out for her riding lesson, then nipped to get the dog a cooling mat and some treats on the way home. DH put the hot tub up and mowed the lawn whilst we were out, so we’ll be having a weekend in the garden!

DH is cooking a chicken casserole for dinner, it’s a light one though and only takes 10 mins to throw together before chucking in the oven. Looking forward to not having to rush to have everything ready for the week tomorrow!

Hedjwitch · 27/05/2023 15:46

Yoga class, followed by coffee and cake with mum.
Then getting mums shopping.
Now pottering in the garden with a beer to hand.

Chatillon · 27/05/2023 16:37

I went out this morning to the cheese shop and picked up some provisions for supper. Gardening for a bit. Now about to prepare the fruit and cheese board (French). Then will go and lay the table outside. Langoustines, tuna steaks, some Cornish sardines and a herby salad. I have some English wine from the Cotswolds. I baked the bread to go with it earlier. Then a walk by the river later. Game of Ticket to Ride as it gets dark.

Simonjt · 27/05/2023 17:10

I know it isn’t morning anymore, which is cheating.

We’re in Stockholm for halfterm, we thought we forgot to empty the fruit bowl and the fridge on our visit at easter and we were right, so we’re spending tonight cleaning the kitchen, fridge and getting rid of all the flies.

I hope the side effecta of your treatment aren’t hitting you too hard @lucysmam

thefinaltwist · 27/05/2023 17:27

Bit late to this but still enjoying joining in. I went to the retail park in the next town for a new hoover mine has given up. Then food shopping for us and my mum. Popped in with that and had a coffee and a chat. Came home, tidied up the front garden and put in some new plants. I've now just got into my jammies for a lazy night with ds 11. Hes out playing just now but will order a takeaway shortly and then will either read my book or watch a film with a glass of wine. The hoover is being delivered tomorrow so could be an excuse for a proper lazy day 😴

Judellie · 27/05/2023 18:42

Was going to reply this morning just as my lovely breakfast was ready - then my boy got stung by a wasp so we had to find vinegar then go to Boots for proper stuff to treat it with!
Went down on the Tyne and Wear metro to the big Go outdoors at Pallion to buy backpacks, lunch at Wetherspoons then to South Shields and ferry to North Shields (its included in metro day pass fare) and all the way round the coast loop on the metro. Tried to make it into a nice day for DS after the wasp sting, especially as he loves the metro.
I hope you are doing well and have plenty of support @lucysmam and thank you for starting the thread, its lovely to read about what everyone's up to.

MeinKraft · 27/05/2023 19:12

I'm sitting in the garden with a glass of wine listening to wood pigeons cooing and next doors wind chimes. Toddler DC is playing in the sandpit and a cat is wandering about. Bliss.

Silkierabbit · 27/05/2023 19:28

Hope you aren't feeling too bad after the chemo LucysMam I did that this time last year. Today I have done the exciting tasks of hoovering and bank account sorting and collecting pet food and clothes order.

Daughter has just come back from a week's holiday. Son is ipadding. Dh is just cooking a roast dinner. Floof the cat has been very attention seeking so have been playing games with him and cuddling him for several hours. He is my chemo cat and 1 now. I started a trend on the cancer thread and several also got cats in chemo.

MeinKraft · 27/05/2023 21:51

@Silkierabbit is floof undergoing chemo or supporting you through chemo?

Silkierabbit · 27/05/2023 22:00

Floof supported me through chemo and DD through GCSEs last year, he's a tabby Maine Coon. This is Floof

With the help from an instructor, I flew a small aircraft along the Yorkshire Coast.
Was spectacular !

He's extremely floofy and lovely!

Silkierabbit · 28/05/2023 00:25

Thank you. Floof is a bit hyper at the moment. He's banging for a game, it's just gone midnight. 😂

@lucysmam so sorry to see you are having chemo, sending love & strength. Hope you were able to use the new garden furniture in the lovely weather yesterday.

We had a really nice day - an early walk for me & DDog to beat the heat. DS then looked after the DDog when he finally surfaced while DH & I had our annual trip to the local garden centre for plants for the pots in the front garden...we do not have green fingers but like a bit of colour.

DS went out with his mates for the afternoon then evening. I made Nigella's sweet potato & chicken with harissa & lime. Lovely to be able to sit in the garden with a glass of wine.

legospringqueen · 28/05/2023 07:55

@Silkierabbit nice to see Floof up to his old tricks (remember him from the GCSE thread, he's still looking lush)!
