Good Morning All! What's everyone up to on this beautiful day?

I'm just eating breakfast, in my spot in the kitchen. The window's open & washer's on. I can hear some of the neighbours dc's playing outside already & the birds in the trees. Lovely 😊

Today will be a lazy day for me, after my second chemo yesterday. We have some garden furniture being delivered so maybe a steady tidy up out there & then the girls dad will put it together. My dad might visit for a cuppa this afternoon so maybe we'll test it out!

The girls are off to town together afaik. We don't need anything much - they have a small list of bits to pick up, dd2 wants to buy herself a handbag in Primarni, and I've asked for a bit more fruit from the market.

Not sure what's for tea yet, we'll see how I feel later before we make that decision. Whatever I fancy, the girls will more than likely go along with anyway.

What about all of you? 🌞

Having a lazy day as recovering from minor surgery ( which has surprisingly floored me)
going to have a walk along the beach, which is at bottom of street and into shopping centre. Hopefully the festival that’s going on will have finished by then. Might go out for lunch. Will pick up something from a deli for tea and thinking about a nice pudding to go with it.

lucysmam · 27/05/2023 10:11

Your dinner sounds devine @Peridot1 😋

Need to cut the grass and plant my carrot plants and parsnip plants. Still sat in my pjs in the garden with a cup of tea. Need to get moving but its nice sat out in the sun watching the birds on the bird feeder. Got work tonight so will need to have a nap at some point.

Gettingbysomehow · 27/05/2023 10:13

Working because we are so staffed. I do not want to be here today.

MeinKraft · 27/05/2023 10:17

Thank you for the thread @lucysmam sounds like you're being well looked after at home ❤️

Not much going on today, screens for everyone this morning, the toddler is puddling around chewing things and trying to bite me - do they get more teeth when they turn 2?!

I've made some vegetable soup for lunch and have a load of washing to hang out. Trying to decide whether to have a bacon sandwich for breakfast or a toastie.

Morning I am staying with my two children at my Nan's house until Monday. We came down on the train after work/school finished yesterday. We were going to take a trip to Hyde park but nan has arthritis and I think it may be too much so we are going to Olympic park instead which is nearer to her home if she starts to get in pain. Nan's house is very much the family home where everyone has stayed so we always love coming to stay.

golddustwomen · 27/05/2023 10:19

Staying out the way of my miserable dp Grin the kids need new summer clothes so that's my plan for today. And a tidy up of the garden.

@lucysmam sending love, it's so good to see your thread up this morning.

bluechameleon · 27/05/2023 10:31

I'm sitting outside a cafe while the DC are at their martial arts class. When they've finished we are going to the shopping centre to buy a present for a new baby in the family, Yo Sushi for lunch and then to the outdoors shops in the retail park. I want to choose a new, smaller tent that I can manage by myself so I can take the DC camping while DH is working in the summer. Meanwhile DH is at home cutting the grass and awaiting the delivery of our new garden furniture. Hopefully he'll get it built while we are out so I can then sit on it this afternoon.

mommybear1 · 27/05/2023 10:33

Breakfast done, house tidied, DS5 just in the shower. DH and I are off to a child free wedding our first in 5 years 🥳 sadly DS has got a bug coming (high temperature and very lethargic) and I foresee this will be a short attendance at the wedding 😬.

afaloren · 27/05/2023 10:47

Got up early and had a cup of tea outside playing with the Merlin Bird ID app somebody posted about on here. Did a few work bits then cheeky Maccies breakfast!

Now DH and I are getting ready to go to an all-day 40th party. Lovely weather for it which is great but I’m fearing tomorrow morning already Grin

AssertiveGertrude · 27/05/2023 10:50

Hi lucysmam great to see your thread and wishing you every single good wish with your treatment

at my pots this morning - managed to get a nice tray of white begonia - have taken off dead leaves off all my shrubs and watered everything (they all got a feed last night)

dc are helping but a bit scared of the bugs 😆

AssertiveGertrude · 27/05/2023 10:51

Oh yes also rewatching normal people !! Can’t watch Downton Abbey yet again (or maybe I can)

AngelasAirpods · 27/05/2023 10:58

Morning! I’m home alone whilst DC are swimming with their dad. Supposed to be doing the laundry but taking a much longer than planned mumsnet break Grin

Got tidying up in the garden to do. Take stuff to recycle centre. Post cards, pick up some groceries.

Later we’ll finish the decorating/tidying up of one room then probably have (Chinese) takeaway, watch tv.

grayhairdontcare · 27/05/2023 11:05

Lazy morning then taking my granddaughter to the park.
Going to a local nursery this afternoon looking at plants then pottering in the garden.

Greengreented · 27/05/2023 11:09

I hope you are doing ok @lucysmam, thank you for the thread. I’ve dropped off the Saturday threads for a while, but I’m back! I got up early to take the puppy for her walk (she’s 6 months old already!), and have been to the market for bbq bits and nice bread. We’re off out for lunch in a bit as it was DH’s birthday this week, then back home to sit in the garden later while the dog splashes about in her paddling pool. Probably a film later but I am not sure what to watch so if anyone has any recommendations…

VickyInTheVipersNest · 27/05/2023 11:13

I love these threads of your @lucysmam. A welcome bit of calm on here 😊

Hope you're feeling alright after chemo.

My 5yo has a tummy bug, so think I'll be spending most of the day watching Disney movies and cleaning. DH is taking the healthy DC out as they're bored.

I've done a big Ocado shop for next week. Thank God for online shopping!

WhatWouldHopperDo · 27/05/2023 11:19

It is my baby boy’s 18th Birthday! We were up early putting up some decorations and he rolled out of bed at 9 (middle of the night for him!)

We had breakfast all together then went to town for him to get a haircut.

Just chilling for a bit before we get ready to go out for lunch with extended family then he’s off out with his mates tonight. We’ve got BIL and Sil coming for the evening as they are staying down for the weekend.

Can’t believe I technically no longer have any ‘dependants’ !!

Ilovelurchers · 27/05/2023 11:25

Alone in the house this morning as DD with her dad and DH has been away travelling for a few days (both are coming back later, hurray!) so I ordered a McDonalds delivery (guilty pleasure) and walked the dog in the sun.

Will get bus into town with DD hopefully when she gets here as I need to nip to a pharmacy - not feeling too great.

Then just chilling - probably watch a few movies. I am thinking of suggesting a takeaway to everybody tonight, unless dd or DH particularly wants to cook. (They both do their share in this regard but it still always seems to fall to me to make sure we have all the ingredients they need, tell them where even very obvious bits of cooking equipment are and have been for the last three years etc, so I can't totally relax. Tho I am lucky in that the cooking isn't all down to me I guess).

meikyo · 27/05/2023 11:27

Currently on a train from Perthshire to London. Very busy! Just stopped at Edinburgh and loads of very excited people got off, looks like they are heading to Harry Styles at Murrayfield. We are going to see Sparks at Albert Hall on Tuesday! Been a fan for years but this will first time seeing them!

RaisinsAreTheWorkOfTheDevil · 27/05/2023 11:28

We are having a lazy day.
The DC are having some screen time while I scroll through MN with the dog curled up on my lap.
This afternoon I will be tidying up from the carnage the DC have created in the house this week.
Later (if the pavements are cool) we will take the dog for a walk.
I don’t know what’s for tea tonight as we are at the end of the week and the cupboards are a bit bare so we will probably have to go to the supermarket at some point.

Beignet · 27/05/2023 11:37

I've been up early and done some chores, went grocery shopping and am now sitting in the sunshine watching youngest child is at his sports club.

Older teenage children have plans with friends so they will be out.

We are hosting a chilled BBQ for friends later so will do some food prep and have a nice evening in the garden

Squirrelsnut · 27/05/2023 11:43

At least 2 big loads of washing to capitalise on the sun.
Dust, hoover and tidy downstairs.
Possibly a little shopping.
A walk.

Cottagecheeseisnotcheese · 27/05/2023 11:44

some housework this morning and bits of admin, nice salad for lunch a bit of pottering in garden this afternoon, mushroom risotto for dinner with red wine! then having a wee sort through my recipes / books this evening while watching some catchup tv. It's a bit dull here

ThreeRingCircus · 27/05/2023 11:46

I was up early this morning so baked a cake (rhubarb and ginger) as I had rhubarb in the garden that needed picking. I've cleaned the kitchen and vacuumed downstairs.

DH is just making burgers on the BBQ for lunch and I've been identifying birdsong using the Merlin App. Mainly sparrows and blackbirds so nothing too exciting!

I'm meeting a friend in town tonight for dinner and drinks which I'm really looking forward to as we're way overdue a catch up.

HappiDaze · 27/05/2023 11:53

Having a lazy morning then off to a BBQ party later for a friend's Birthday.
