Is there a new social media trend amongst teens (maybe Tik Tok), at the moment? I had an uncomfortable experience.

I was on my lunch break, enjoying a coffee in the park, talking on the phone. Suddenly 3 young girls (late teens or maybe 20), walked past and one of them suddenly shrieked, while chatting. It made me jump, so I admit I did look at them, still on my phone.

One of them then looked back at me, walked over, her phone in my face and filmed me, while saying to me, 'Well HELLO, WHORE', then ran back to her friends shrieking with laughter. It left me feeling v uncomfortable, I wonder if they just took a dislike to me, or it's some sort of 'trend' to do this to unsuspecting people.

I was in my work uniform btw, so didn't match her description of me at all! 😮

Nope not a trend.

If she posted it on tiktok, or anywhere else, she'd get reported and blasted in the comments. Trust me.

I'd quite happily stamp on a phone screen in those circumstances. I hope you're OK OP. Sounds like a shit situation.

I saw a TikTok where some teenage boys entered a strangers house (the woman had left the door open while gardening) for a “challenge”. It was horrible - nothing happened but it was so uncomfortable.

I saw that. Her kids were in the house. Vile.

This is a worrying trend! I'm just getting over a psychotic episode and am only just able to go back out in public. If someone did this to me my reaction would probably have me arrested. At best it would send me backwards so much is probably end up needing admitting to a ward, which I only narrowly avoided.

Your reflexes must be slow. A phone thrust in my face would very shortly be a phone in my hand/under my foot./in bits.

This is such a typical missing-the-point MNer response.

Sure, of course OP is to blame for being video'd 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I saw that, the same boy then stole an elderly persons dog in the park and then jumped on Orthodox Jews in Stamford Hill to scare them. According to the comments, this young boy is already a father Confused

Side note: the house was beautiful and ‘James’ and family have impeccable taste in interiors!

Any idea where that house might be roughly? I want to browse similar houses on Rightmove and dream Grin

When I read things like this I despair. We were little rascals as teenagers late 80's and early 90's but would never disrespect or speak like that to other people. What is happening 😳

Townlife · 21/05/2023 19:56

Exactly, Sunflower. We certainly didn't behave like this as teens! I told my dh. He said 'But why would they pick on you?! You mind your own business, don't draw attention to yourself and you must have been in work uniform'!

I said, I'm probably the EXACT type they look for, unassuming and maybe easy to catch off-guard. 🤔 It was in broad daylight with lots of people around too. Thank goodness it wasn't at night! 😮

Just seen someone has been arrested for a tiktok "going in a stranger's house" prank. Good
https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/may/22/police-investigating-video-of-people-entering-east-london-home-uninvited

That's Youtuber Mizzy. He's been arrested a few times now, don't hold your breath. He filmed himself with friends running up to people in public with balaclavas on, blocking their path and threatening them with 'do you wanna die?'. They laugh as the victim freaks out and attempts to flee. He harassed Jews in Stamford Hill whilst wearing a hoiche hat ffs. Stole an elderly women's dog. Jumped into the back of people's cars and refused to leave. All the while very aggressive and shouting at his victims. Threatened teen girls alone at night, stroking their hair and asking them if they want death, hand in pocket, giving the impression he's about to stab them.

He most frequently trespasses stores, that's the main content. He aggressively pushes past staff and runs through the building filming prohibited areas, back to the shop front where he pretends to be a cashier and serve customers. He fights when the staff try to remove him.

Unsurprisingly, he has a teenage boy fanbase. He jokes about his arrests and filmed one of them for his channel. He is one arrogant pos. I should emphasise whilst he's the worst of the group, he does arrive with friends, so it's genuinely intimidating and the videos they make mock the panicked reaction of the people they 'prank'. Including mimicking their accents and general ignorant shit like that.

I hope someone downloaded all his content, wish I had, before the channel was banned because he's way worse than even the papers make out. They were not minor pranks and his claim that he has received backlash just because he's a black male is fucking disgusting. He's still bragging btw, saying we're increasing his 'clout' with all the outrage because more people than ever are watching his videos.

SeaPink · 23/05/2023 14:14

Never heard of him but sounds like he's inciting antisocial and intimidating behaviour among any young people who are easily influenced. Someone needs to come down on him like a ton of bricks

AnarchoTyrannosaurus · 23/05/2023 14:24

The footage of his 'pranks' are all over twitter with his name and a video search.

One of the really chilling ones is him approaching some teenage girls who are sitting on the bench in the evening, constantly reaching out to touch their hair without permission, and asking them over and over again if they want to die, because he can take them out right now. VWAG is obviously is some kind of joke to him. The girls look utterly terrified. Probably because they're genuinely afraid he's going to kill one of them.
