Is Gousto good?

Thinking of trying out gousto so I can actually cook nice, healthy meals without the faff of buying (and wasting) loads of ingredients. I live by myself too so I could get a fair few meals out of a box.

Is it good quality? Are the recipes nice?

I know there are loads of food box delivery services now so if you recommend something better then let me know!

I’m a fan of Gousto.

I only get a box when it’s on offer though otherwise I find it abit expensive. My most recent one, I got 60% off which worked out really cheap.
The ingredients are good quality, including the meat.
I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve had and find them fuss free. Most of the portions are generous too, we get the one for 2 adults but there’s usually enough extra for our toddler too.
I also like how you get the recipe cards to keep - I have about 25 now and use them regularly when making meals.

I've used hello fresh and Gousto a few times for a few years now.

I tend to use Gousto most - good portion sizes, good choice of menus and plenty for both me (pescatarian) and dh/dd (meat eaters) which we mix and match.

I also like that I can do one off boxes. I don't have to have an ongoing account, remembering to cancel it each week I don't want it.

We don't do it all the time - often for 2-3 weeks to get us out of a rut when we've started eating the same stuff, week on week. Tend to do 3 meals, with some add ins, for us. Have some veg, some fish and then chose meat menus which we can save half the meat and me switch in a fish or veggie protein bit to replace the meat but.

We like do quite like that Gousto uses Henderson's Relish too!

Gousto is lovely, usually get a box or two a month as a treat.

the chicken katsu in this weeks menu is amazing, better than wagsmamas. All ingredients such as meat, cheese are included making it good value for a discount box to try and see.

. First gousto box for approx £15 delivered & 25% off next two months

Yes I also live on my own and love Gousto! I get 6 meals out of a box which is really good. Cooking for one is such a chore so this helps. I’ve stopped getting the boxes for now, but still use the app for recipes/inspo.

Everyone saying how generous the portions are makes me realise why I'm chubby- I thought they were ok but not huge by any stretch! I also added loads of extra veg on the side. IfI was relying on what was provided I'd have not felt I had anywhere near enough.

That said, I tried some recipes o really liked, and still use the recipe cards even though I've stopped the subscription.

It's our buffer zone between being organised and living on takeaways.

Totally this

Every time in these threads people say 'oh it's so expensive' or 'i don't get it, why don't you meal plan' or 'what a waste of packaging'

But in my house it's gousto or takeaway. I don't have the will/energy/desire to find, plan, buy and cook interesting meals.

5 minutes on the app every few weeks, a box gets delivered on my WFH day and we get 3 or 4 days of good quality food. Compared to the cost of takeaway it's a bargain.

Hi I know this is an old post. I wondered if you went for it? Have you tried any others like it? Yes I like Gousto. I get really stuck in a rut and not knowing what to cook (and not having the energy to find a new meal!!) If you haven't tried it yet, here's a code for 65% off your first box and 20% off the first two months. I got 5 meals for £15 that first box which was a bargain!! https://gousto.co.uk/raf?promo_code=EMILY44539025&utm_source=androidapp
