Some of the guests have been there since 7am.
Are they allowed to go out for the loo.
What about the musicians/guards etc.
I'd of had to turn down the invite if I'd received one.

Now you see this is the reason I could never be Queen. If I was Camilla, never mind the throne, I would be on a commode!

What I was wondering actually was what if Charles or Camilla had been ill, like norovirus or something... Think how disruption it would have caused if they'd had to cancel it.

That happened with Edward VII's coronation. Law students know all about it because it led to juicy case law around where liability lay for contracts that couldn't be carried out because they were dependent on the coronation.

@CabernetSauvignon Was his coronation rescheduled then?

@CabernetSauvignon I made an effort and Googled it. 😂

I’ve been involved with planning royal visits at work. They have something they call ‘opportunity to retire’ set out across their itinerary. Essentially a lackey walks through wherever they are going to visit and scopes out toilets that are away from public eyes. It wouldn’t do for a royal to be pictured leaving a portaloo after all. The royal then knows when and where they can go should the need arise. Given the same organisers planned this event, guests would have been told exactly when and where they can go.

Yes, it was around 6 weeks later. They still had a service of intercession on the day and some pre-planned events went ahead, but it was smaller as not all the heads of state etc could schlep back. I've also just been reading how they didn't use the St Edward Crown (which was used today) as Edward VII still wasn't well enough to cope with the weight.

When you are in important event usually your body full of adrenaline and you dont have the need to go to loo. Like in the wedding ceremony. No bride wants to go to loo.

i talked in seminars a lot. I never had the need for the loo in the middle of important seminar. So brain its amazing thing, it even can control out bladder
