Where would you go in Europe for two months of healing time ?

I’ve had the most horrific year with ex. Sadly, I’ll have to leave my home in a few weeks. I was hoping to buy a new place, but nothing seems to be working out for me. So much has happened and feel so overwhelmed and like I can’t cope anymore. Thinking of sticking my stuff in storage and leaving the UK to go somewhere peaceful for a couple of months to process everything.

Where would you go?

@Magnoliainbloom Did you get away or are you going away? Which place are you looking at?

@Chatillon thank you for following up! I’m doing 3 stints with a few days in between back home to reset and re-pack - Oman, France, Uzbekistan. Not usual choices, but I needed a mix of the unknown and exploring more of the familiar. Heading out next week before starting a new job in mid-September :-).

That sounds horizon-stretching. Have an amazing time and a great start to your new job.

Another vote for the Camino...although July and August will be hot and quite busy. I've walked 2 different Caminos, one longer 6 week one in May/June and a shorter one in October. With both, the simplicity of knowing that your only task for the day is to walk from point A to point B was incredibly freeing. The scenery is stunning and you can be as sociable or not as you feel at the time. You can stay in simple hostels or fancier hotels, you can walk 10 km or 40 km per day and religious or not, you will feel part of something with historical significance and see the best of many people who walk for a multitude of different reasons. If not now, please consider walking a Camino at some point in your future...it will bring peace and although it does sound a bit trite (and a bit wanky!) my favourite phrase and patch on my backpack is 'Solvitur Ambulando' which means 'it is solved by walking'. I've always found this to be true whether it's a 6 week hike or a wander round the block.
