What makes your 10 year old boy laugh out loud!

My 10 year old says he can’t remember last time he laughed and it’s making me feel bad. Maybe a really funny movie would help.
He is fairly happy I think but doesn’t seem to actually laugh much. He says sometimes his whole class laughs at something and he can’t seem to join in.

Mumteedum · 02/05/2023 19:27

The 13 storey treehouse books.. laughs his socks off at them and has for two years now

And now Adventure Time on Now TV.

Newhobbybaker · 02/05/2023 19:28

Its toilet humour for my DS too.

WillowtreeHouse · 02/05/2023 19:29

Only Fools and Horses. When DS was about 10 (he's 19 now) he discovered an episode and he laughed so much that DH and I spent more time watching him than we did watching the programme.

AinmÁlainn · 02/05/2023 19:34

Bunny vs Monkey, Would I Lie to You (bonus crying tears for Bob Mortimer insanity), try not to laugh videos on YouTube.

thefinaltwist · 02/05/2023 19:35

Try not to laugh videos and anything to do with farts

SuperGinger · 02/05/2023 19:35

Seriously, he sounds depressed maybe take him to the GP. May is a bad month for depressives. Exercise and sunshine always helps depression in my experience, treat the cause and hopefully your boy will laugh again.

They really are. He reads them to me and he's in knots laughing and I'm in knots laughing at him. They are great for keeping this age reading too. Ds isn't interested in chapter books but after these he's getting into graphic novels which I'm delighted about.

stayathomer · 02/05/2023 19:44

The dog man books, the book of silly jokes for kids,. What does Santa say when he’s doing the gardening: ‘grow grow grow!’ The Amazing World on Gumball. Oh and the game cards against humanity (family version). Make sure to tell him everyone laughs at different things though, my 12 yo never got in on the poo, puke, snot thing, he always found it disgusting- but he laughs his head off at action comedy films.

Willowtreehouse When my eldest sees the ‘Gary’ episode he laughs so hard he almost gets sick!!
Hugs to your son op x

Bartg · 02/05/2023 19:55

Thanks going to look in to all these and try and bring more laughs to the house. I do worry about him, he is a worrier. But he gets on ok generally. Plenty friends and in a nice football team

@AinmÁlainn yeah graphic novels... thoroughly approve. My DS loves doing his own comic strips. Jamie Smart the B v M author and illustrator us a top bloke. V nice on Twitter.

Beezknees · 02/05/2023 20:11

When DS was that age, Youtubers doing stupid challenges. 🙄

birdling · 02/05/2023 23:07

Old fashioned looney tunes cartoons.
Good old road runner.

TheSaint01 · 03/05/2023 05:31

Is your child an only child? My kids love watching silly YouTube videos. There's plenty on there, failing that, just doing things you know make him happy.

Upanddownthemerrygoround · 03/05/2023 05:34

The card game Kids against maturity (like cards against humanity but toilet humour. A lot of toilet humour). Also poetry against Neanderthals was a good hit at Christmas.

a funny film at the cinema.

but right now he’s SATs-stressed (blimming school, not home) and finding life hard. We’re getting a lot of tears too.

After dinner my 10 &12 year old and I watch funny videos on Instagram. People falling over, bad hair cuts, revolting food. It’s their favourite part of the day. If I’ve had some free time I search and save them for later. Otherwise we just look for some

florenceandthemac · 03/05/2023 06:43

When he asked Alexa to play Big Balls by AC/DC and danced along to it 🙄
Anything else similar to this. Toilet humour/talking about balls, etc etc...
