Decent set of pots and pans?

Can anyone recommend a decent set? Don’t mind paying for something that will last.

Ours have seen better days and could do with replacing. Must be suitable for an induction hob!

I bought some stainless steel Meyer ones 26 😳 years ago from Heals (I still remember carrying them home - not a great idea) and they still look good as new. Not sure they do the same ones anymore though

Mine are Stellar and are fabulous. We have an induction hob. They still look brand new after about 18 years

My best pans on my induction hob have been my IKEA 365 ones. Tough as old boots but light and easily cleaned. I had a Stellar set and don’t use them now as they are so heavy.

Another fan of Meyer. Mine were a wedding present 22 years ago and are still going strong.

fussychica · 02/05/2023 18:13

Got free set of Schulte Uffer ones with my Neff Induction hob, excellent quality.

bruffin · 02/05/2023 18:19

My prestige pans are 32 years old and still going strong. However I did buy a berghoff eurocast saute pan on Saturday which feels really good. My Ds bought the cheaper Berghoff Leo and he is really pleased with them

Willowkins · 02/05/2023 18:23

Mine are Stellar too. We got ours over 25 years ago and they still look good.

Meyer bought out Prestige in 1998 and won't honour the lifetime guarantee that came with the old prestige pans

Mine are from John Lewis - I’ve got this set, the steamer that sits on top of them, a smaller saucepan and the frying pan from the classic range and the wok from the thermacore range. All excellent and work well on my induction hob.

Reallybadidea · 02/05/2023 18:27

Stellar are really good value and have a lifetime guarantee.

Fluffywabbits · 02/05/2023 18:28

Another vote for stellar. I got a set as a gift and love them... Still like new after years of use. Straining lids are fab too.

RaininSummer · 02/05/2023 18:31

My pans were from Jean patrique about 30 years ago and so far the only think to break is one pan handle coming off.

Unescorted · 02/05/2023 18:35

I have Meyer ones too. Bought 30 odd years ago and still looking like new despite mine and my house mates efforts to burn them. They got some stick when I was learning to cook.

I have had these for nearly 30 years and they still look good. Straight sides so good for mashing potatoes, cool handle lids (the lids can slide onto the handles if you store your pans by hanging them) and even burning caramel in one hasn’t ruined it - despite DD1’s best efforts!

EternalSunshine19 · 02/05/2023 18:42

Le Creuset. You can't go wrong and they have a life time guarantee

bobby81 · 02/05/2023 18:44

Ours are from Denby and seem pretty good.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 02/05/2023 18:45

I got the bigger set of the John Lewis ones over 20 years ago and honestly they are still like new. I'd definitely repurchase them. My next option would be Stellar as I've mushy friends who own them and highly rate them.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 02/05/2023 18:45

I have MANY friends! Only some of them could be described as mushy 🤣

mrsharrisgoestoparis · 02/05/2023 18:47

Stellar and stellar again. I have bought the designer ones and they are a pain with soaking and hand washing etc

surlycurly · 02/05/2023 18:49

I'm another one recommending stellar. I got mine 23yrs ago and they're still brilliant!

SillyBub · 02/05/2023 18:50

We have Le Creuset stainless steel pans and an induction hob. They were bought to replace Jean Patrique which I had rated although the handles eventually fell off as the screws failed. The LC pans are literally the best pans ever, I wouldn't have imagined that there could be much difference between two sets of expensive stainless steel pans but it's night and day. They cook everything so evenly and after 10 years, look as good as the day we bought them and they are used and put in the dishwasher daily.

I see them on cookery programs all the time so chefs clearly rate them too!

Really expensive but worth every single penny and I can't see that they'll ever need replacing.

ExcusesExcuses · 02/05/2023 18:52

le cruset stainless steel are excellent and are suitable for induction

Coxspurplepippin · 02/05/2023 18:57

. Costco pans

We have these - had to replace old pans when we moved, new house has induction hob.

They're good pans but not recommended to go in dishwasher, but I don't like doing pans in d/w anyway so no hardship.

Costco also do Berghoff pans.
