Do they last a full week?

I buy the small tub of pringles for my daughter though they last her one sitting. Family packs are a no in our home, if it's not me dipping into them then my husbands doing it and we are both cutting down and the temptation is too much!

PotKettel · 27/04/2023 02:44

I buy a pack of Organix tomato noughts and crosses most weeks because my dd 12 adores them. But she doesn’t eat crisps every day.

I usually also buy a pack of Monster munch or wotsits or quavers - less popular and so gross I’m not tempted to eat them. My dc age 4 doesn’t eat crisps.

Now ask me about sweet treats, that’s where it all goes pear-shaped.

Justcashnosweets · 27/04/2023 03:49

Picked onion Monster Munch, Wotsits, Quavers, Pringles and Doritos.

Justcashnosweets · 27/04/2023 03:49

Not all at the same time may I add, and they never last the week!

Missingmyusername · 27/04/2023 04:09

DD isn’t a fan. We buy them for her, then DH and I eat them! Pringles, Doritos, monster munch, Discos, well anything really!

JennyWren87 · 27/04/2023 04:37

I buy Pombear or Quavers but they have one pack between them and bit every day. So a 6 pack does last more than a week.

Monkeybutt1 · 27/04/2023 06:57

I buy ready salted as that's DS favourite but he only has them on a weekend.

parrotonmyshoulder · 27/04/2023 07:11

I buy lidl 2x6 pack of ready salted or 12 mixed family pack. One for lunchbox ds(10) and one for DD(14) school snack. The crisp monster eats the rest and they’re usually gone by Thursday.

GreyCarpet · 27/04/2023 07:25

My 17yo daughter takes PomBears or supermarket own equivalent to 6th form for her packed lunches. They're her favourites because they don't have a strong flavour. And they are teddy bears.

Pseudonamed · 27/04/2023 07:39

Currently we have Tayto (the proper Irish ones), meanies, skips, bikers and dorito chilli heatwaves.

Beezknees · 27/04/2023 07:43

Whatever he asks for when I do the shop. How long they last depends on how many I buy! He eats 1 or 2 packs a day (15yo).

PrincessHoneysuckle · 27/04/2023 07:46

Ds 9 loves Seabrook Canadian ham

Mushroomofficeglass · 27/04/2023 07:47

Mine eat max 2 a week. I buy 30 pack tesco own last about 2 months. 2 teens that eat them.

LittleBlueBrioTrain · 27/04/2023 07:48

Crisp fiend child here. Quavers, pom bears, skips, wotsits, mini cheddar, hula hoop puft things or walkers cheese and onion. He will eat between 2-6 packs a day. I wish he wouldnt, but he's autistic and has a very limited range of accepted foods and crisps are one of them! Unfortunately this also includes specific brands and they're getting v pricey!

ZenNudist · 27/04/2023 07:55

We get through a lot of crisps. I'm always buying them. Posting for all the virtuous messages about not eating them. I try and buy flavours I don't like because then I eat them. The kids hoover them up for lunches and after school snack. My rule about one bag a day goes unheeded. I have just started buying expensive "eat real" lentil GF chips and putting them in a container because a mum at school told me ds loves them when he visits her house. I don't think they are any healthier, just a novelty.

angiec89 · 27/04/2023 08:14

The fake 'hula hoops' from Aldi- one big pack lasts us a whole week but only two kids eating them

Aldi do an equivalent, they are delicious and about half the price. I'd say they taste like a cross between a Pringle and a popodom

evtheria · 27/04/2023 13:27

Weekly: I buy Tesco crisps (look like Walkers): a 6-pack of mixed or meaty. DP usually takes one to work, so at least one left for DS, who eats other salty snacks and doesn't need crisps often.

Sometimes we will pick up a sharer bag of tortillas, or proper chips bbq etc. on the weekend to have while watching a film, but not always.

evtheria · 27/04/2023 13:28

PS I'd eat 3 bags of tangy toms a day if I could. Needless to say, don't buy them if I see them 🤣

ThreeRingCircus · 27/04/2023 13:39

If I have crisps in the house then I eat them, no crisp is safe in this house 🤣. So I don't buy them, DDs get school dinners anyway so I don't need them for packed lunches. They're only little though so it's easy to police. If they're as big a crisp fiend as I am when they're older they'll be going through absolutely loads.

Can't beat good ol' Tayto crisps especially cheese & onion. Delicious in a sandwich 🤤.

verabarbleen · 27/04/2023 18:55

I get my 2 and 4 year old Pom bears or the supermarket equivalent whichever cheaper at the time. Sometimes quavers and wotsits mostly puff type crisps I think a pack of six lasts them a week and I will have some too

Alloveragain3 · 27/04/2023 19:20

@pseudonamed The perfect crisp selection! I'm jealous.

Choconut · 27/04/2023 19:31

I'm a crisps fan - but like my crisps thick, can't stand Walkers!
But eating a packet of crisps a day is like drinking 5 litres of cooking oil a year I read, not to mention the salt, so I try to only ever buy very expensive crisps as a treat (not that they last long).
If you haven't tried them then Manomasa Serrano chilli and Yucatan honey are fabulous.

Fridaysgirl17 · 27/04/2023 19:42

Quavers, Wotsits,Meanies, popcorn (not every week), Ella's kitchen puff pops in pea & sweetcorn & banana puffcorn for my 3 year old,& everything but the popcorn would last maybe 2 weeks, the popcorn goes to school so it's used quicker, I buy myself different crisps so rarely dip into theirs 😃
