Just out of curiosity really... how long is long to you? 2 years, 5 years? 20 years? What the minimum time that can be considered'a long time'

20+ is a long time. 10+ is a while.

Sixfaithfulservingfriends · 25/04/2023 22:56

20+ because I’ve been married 24 and it is a long time.

buckeejit · 25/04/2023 23:00

20+

IncompleteSenten · 25/04/2023 23:02

Ive been married now for 25 years and I think that's about hitting the long time mark.
I've been married now over half my life.

Oneandonly22 · 25/04/2023 23:03

I would say 20+ years. My dad said to me a few years ago now and it’s always stuck with me “when you’ve been together more years than you’ve ever been apart that’s a long time” My parents have been married 50 years, married since they were 16.

LauderSyme · 25/04/2023 23:05

15+ years in my estimation.

StunGum · 25/04/2023 23:08

When you’ve been married longer than you were single

Whatthejackdawsaw · 25/04/2023 23:12

20 years plus

Sirius3030 · 25/04/2023 23:40

14 years. Precisely.

Thursa · 25/04/2023 23:43

30+ years

DramaAlpaca · 26/04/2023 00:43

I'd say at least 25 years.

I've been married for 33 years but it's flown by.

StrayGoose · 26/04/2023 00:43

20 years immediately came to mind

JudgeRudy · 26/04/2023 00:50

I think it's relative to how old they are. If they were in gheir 70s I'd think 40 years+, but if 40 years old I'd think maybe 15+

wildinthecountry · 26/04/2023 00:50

I would have to say your Silver wedding anniversary which is twenty five years , so there you have it .

EustaceTheMonk · 26/04/2023 00:53

20+ years.

napody · 25/04/2023 21:24

Agree.

yeah if a person who was in their mid twenties said it I'd think >2 yrs and that they meant something like 'we're no longer newlyweds - we've figured out this marriage thing!'

If someone was somewhere in their 40s /50s I'd think 15 - 20 years

someone in their 60s/70 I'd think 30 - 40 years

Beeswood · 26/04/2023 01:07

20 plus years.

hereiamagainn · 26/04/2023 01:12

I would assume 10+ years, minimum

thaegumathteth · 26/04/2023 01:15

I'm 41 and have been married 18 years. I wouldn't describe myself as having been married a long time. I think I'd say 25y+

adulthumanfemalemum · 26/04/2023 01:17

More than 10 years

I don't know. I've been in a relationship with my DH for 22 years and it doesn't feel long to me. But people tell me it is a long time. (We've only been married 14 years).

My parents have been married almost 50 years. That to me is a long time.

Same length of marriage and time in a relationship here!
my
My parents have been married 61 years though… that’s looong! ❤️
