Which would you choose? Mine would be the Cadbury Marble bar from the 90s/00s but it would need to be the original recipe as Cadbury chocolate isn’t as good anymore

Thank you Sinnerboy for the link to get those crispy pancakes. It's helped so much. I'll look into that today.

I'm going to look out for them, too! We used to get loads as kids, my mother's pal worked at the factory and used to get them cheap.

Dartmoorcheffy · 19/04/2023 14:19

Hopefully heinz will see all the requests for toast toppers and bring then back. They were my absolute favourite comfort food.

choochooandspook · 19/04/2023 14:27

Caramac

postwarbulge · 19/04/2023 14:57

@SinnerBoy

Thank you! I see they have gone up in price a bit since I last bought one for 6d.

SinnerBoy · 19/04/2023 14:59

Cripes! I think they were 5p when I used to eat them, but I got one for my daughter not too long ago.

postwarbulge · 19/04/2023 15:07

Caramac bars did not seem to be widely stocked. They were one of those sweets that used to be on sale at cinemas. The last time I bought one was when I was in the 6th form, in the late Sixties

Rainbowshit · 19/04/2023 15:07

Sharwoods green label chutney sauce. Me and my uncle loved it. He had stockpiled a load of bottles when they discontinued it, but sadly finished them years ago.

Yes - I lived this too

ArcaneWireless · 19/04/2023 15:56

Caramac in name only.

It does not taste the same as it once did.

And before shouts of wonky tastebuds and nostalgia getting things addled, I am not the only one who thinks it is different.

Mind, we could all be wonky. So worth a shot.

Just be prepared for the taste of allwrong.

M&S Dulce de Leche eclairs

Mochudubh · 19/04/2023 16:13

@twanmever I'd forgotten about the Golden Cup, mmmmmmmmmm.

Birds Apeel - powdered neon orange "juice" that you rehydrated, probably more sugar than anything else.
Border Creme Eggs - came in tartan foil with chocolate fondant inside.
Birdseye Cheesies - triangular cheese and tattie croquettes.
Plain chipsticks.

Non-edible
Sqezy (yes, really) washing-up liquid. Still referred to as Sqezy in our house, even if it's Fairy.

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 19/04/2023 16:42

Can't find the post now but someone was asking about Poppets? My daughter bought some yesterday, the toffee ones from Premier. I've also seen them in Home bargains 😀

EarlGreyAndCucumber · 19/04/2023 16:42

Tubs of frozen mousse - pink raspberry or raspberry ripple with a kind of odd jelly in the bottom

Proper Lucozade.

Pineappletart7 · 19/04/2023 16:53

My second choice would be the Sara Lee chocolate Gataeux. My mum always got it for us as a treat

Pan Yan pickle
Bick’s Sweetcorn Relish
Bick’s Cucumber Relish
Toast Toppers
Spangles - the Olde English flavours
Vesta Paella

I lived in Poland in the 1980s and used to have as a treat “zapiekanki” from the caravan behind the main “department store.” Like a little French bread pizza with mushrooms, cheese and a stripe of ketchup. The van is long gone and it is all McDonalds everywhere now. There was also a soft cheese that used to appear in the shops sometimes that was like Boursin but with loads of black pepper that we used to buy for lunch.

Blueberrycreampie · 19/04/2023 21:09

Is it only me who misses Peanut Treets - I know it was a long time ago. M&Ms aren't the same!
