£45 for gas even though we turned the central heating off 2 weeks ago
£110 for electricity but we have an electric cooker and hob.

This is getting unsustainable.

How about people who give meter readings every month say what they used?

1/3/23-1/4/23 gas was 26 units and electric was 166 kwh

M3 or ft3 units?
32m^3 gas, 92kwh electric

Oil has gone back down - so managed to top up for over a year at £0.6125 / litre with £620.
Electricity was £64, but they've recalculated to £45, I actually think that's wrong and should be nearer £60 because we were on estimates and they'd vastly over-estimated & we'd used less as obviously we're out at work more than 2020& 2021, and upped the amount we were paying eventually to £104, so to rectify January was £10.
So about £120 a month all in, of course we do have solar and take advantage of that to heat our water and cook in summer (oil in winter). I only put the washing machine & dishwasher on in sunlight hours if possible now. Being on the oldest feed in tariff & in the sunny south we actually pretty much cover all our energy costs with the FIT payments, and will hopefully do so or mostly do so for another 10+ years.

Everyone that said we were mad to spend so much on insulating and double glazing, thermal everything, and of course solar somehow seems to have changed their minds, I wonder why? 🤔

I'm paying £116 per month. One person, one bedroom, tiny basement flat. I have cut down usage enormously. I don't have a tumble dryer or dishwasher. Only do one clothes wash a week, one bath, one hair wash. CH on quite a bit - 3/4/5 hours a day as it gets very cold in here and I'm 68. It's all a bit medieval. I feel grubby but can't afford to be clean anymore. I used to look forward to my daily bath. Thanks to the Tories, they have screwed our lives.
