School staff - tell me the names of your loveliest pupils.

I often read on MN about names associated with “naughty’ children or unpleasant behaviour. What about the opposite? If you work in a school/ nursery what are the names of children you remember for being particularly kind or helpful or resilient or hardworking?
I particularly remember a resilient Matthew, a hardworking Susanna, a kind Harrison and a helpful Phillip. Over to you…..

Abbie, very friendly

BonnieGlasses · 10/04/2023 21:27

Surely if you actually worked in a school, you'd realise it was totally inappropriate to do this. Hmm

Hazel - very kind
Reuben - ditto

Dylan - always doing the right thing
Jessica - resilient

This.

Would be a breach of confidentiality.

Gwendoline and Theodora were delightful sisters. Jack B was lovely, Jack C couldn’t have been more different.

SmallAngryPenguinWoman · 10/04/2023 21:32

Why? Is there only one Susanna or Harrison in the world??

Asking the question about why it's a breach of confidentiality?

Molly and Annabelle are very kind and reliable and have an excellent sense of humour.
Megan and Zoe are very studious.
Sam, Rhys and Will are lovely guys and very mature.

Why? An anonymous person saying "I teach someone called James and he's nice" isn't inappropriate.

Movingonupi · 10/04/2023 21:35

@BonnieGlasses but this is an anonymous forum? Could be going back years and years and as long as they are popular names!

GladysGeorgina · 10/04/2023 21:36

I don’t think this is a breach of confidentiality. How would a child possibly be identified by their first name? Just a bit of fun and an alternative to negativity about certain names.

All Sebastians are....interesting
James....ditto

GladysGeorgina · 10/04/2023 21:39

I’ve just remembered Grace. Very curious and keen to learn. Could always be relied on to ask interesting questions.

I doubt it is breaking confidentiality to say you once met a child called Simon who was lovely, without giving any further details re: location/date Confused

Don’t worry. Generally people make stuff up on the internet.

saucerfulofwater · 10/04/2023 21:44

Had a strong dislike to an Amber and Abigail ditto Catherine/Kate/Katy/Cath
Liked most Eleanors (but not Ellies)
Torn between Logan, Lukes and Bens

No real science though! And don't think this breaks "confidentiality"

Anyone with a standard name spelled in a weird way though - does not stand a chance of not being judged (well their parents anyway!)

inshitsville · 10/04/2023 21:44

I think if a teacher listed names of the good kids in the same current class it could give something away.

Anyhoo:
Sam
Rebecca
Eleanor
Benjj

Even if you know exactly who a poster is, knowing that they once taught somebody called Juliet who was helpful is not exactly outing, is it?

GladysGeorgina · 10/04/2023 21:46

Sean - so cheery and keen to help
Ethan - gets it wrong, listens, gets it right next time.

From my years of primary teaching I concluded that Katherines, Susannahs, Annas, Alices and Lucys are almost always well behaved, hardworking girls and Matthews and Williams are similarly well behaved boys.

Hollys, Samuels and Benjamins always seem to be cheerful and sweet natured, and for some reason all of the four Hazels I’ve taught have been creative, artistic, sensible but prone to daydreaming.
