Do you plan in advance what you are going to wear in the coming week?

I have theme weeks :) started to see if anyone would notice, no one has :)

I have shades of a colour week
i have dress week, jeans week, skirt week
i have a week of a particular label week

I love this and I wish I was organised enough to do this. When I got dressed this morning I found knickers and socks from the airer, bra in the wrong drawer and hoodie and jeans on the floor from yesterday.

Vaguely... so I might have in mind specific items I want to wear soon and will think of them in the context of the week, as someone else said above. I have some client days, some meetings that happen fortnightly, some WFH days etc. The weather determines my exact outfits though, and I then get those ready the night before.

Does anyone else use the whering app? I’ve just started and think it will help me with my
paralysed by choice, running late, can’t think of a matching x situations. Bit of time required to load items in but then hopefully will be easier

Tumbleweed101 · 10/04/2023 09:53

Aside from work uniform no. Usually either at work or at home though so doesn’t need much planning.

mondaytosunday · 10/04/2023 10:01

No. If I went into an office though I'd certainly give it some thought, but I'd never plan the whole week too in advance. An important meeting yes.

JustDudeIt · 10/04/2023 10:03

I have a rough idea for work, as I need to be semi smart and I’m such a disorganised person I need to make sure I’ve got enough stuff clean and know where it is! I tend to hang up outfits for the next couple of days.

I’ll also plan ahead if I’m going out anywhere and need to look nice.

Otherwise, I just grab leggings/hoodie/trainers.

BHRK · 10/04/2023 10:04

No

Oldraver · 10/04/2023 10:11

Only in the sense that I wear the same things, IE two pairs of trousers and a few tops on rotation including some work polos. I don't work in a smart environment

OMGitsnotgood · 10/04/2023 10:27

No, as my clothes are hung in 'mix and match' groups so easy to grab. If I'm having a very early start, will take an outfit out of the wardrobe the night before.

However, whilst I've never had a problem for work/casual clothes, I'm not very good at planning clothes for nights out/events etc. I've taken to planning these ahead and keeping a record because an outfit that worked for event A would work for event B, saves me thinking. Also gives me time to work out if I need anything to complete the outfit - eg I rarely wear tights, so you can bet I won't be able to find a pair on the night if wearing a dress where bare legs would be frowned on. Or as happened recently the one pair of shoes that would go with an outfit needed heeling etc

FlibbertyGibbitt · 10/04/2023 10:44

Yes as I can’t be bothered to get clothes ready on the day. Get them out on a Sunday, job done .

Pseudonamed · 10/04/2023 10:49

I am going to give this a go this week and see if it makes any difference to my life. Bank hol today so will more than likely be jeans and a hoodie but in the office the rest of the week. Will aim for tomorrow through Friday and see if it helps or hinders me. Always up for a challenge!

Villagetoraiseachild · 10/04/2023 10:53

Love the idea of a themed week!
When I used to live in Steiner land I used to dress in rhythm with the planets, so Monday, purple, Tuesday, pink/red etc.
Some people noticed but did it mainly to amuse myself.....

Villagetoraiseachild · 10/04/2023 10:55

This looks totally bonkers now, but when in Rome etc.

Pseudonamed · 10/04/2023 12:12

Looked at my work diary and I am home tomorrow and Friday so for today I have on a hoody and jeans, tomorrow will be the same but have undies on a hanger ready to go. Wednesday blouse and trousers, Thursday same trousers different blouse and Friday I have out my gym gear as the plan is to work out for the first time in months. Lets see how easy or annoying this is.

DragonbornMum · 10/04/2023 12:35

Wtf who could be assed doing that!

luckylavender · 10/04/2023 15:45

Yes, I've just done it.

and I love this :)

I’m not quite up there with the whole planet thing… but quite like the idea of a rainbow week… obvs missing orange

gogohmm · 10/04/2023 20:15

Wow such organisation, I don't know what day it is half the time Grin

Loafbeginsat60 · 10/04/2023 20:22

Well if jeans, polo top and wellies count as an outfit then yeah I definitely plan it 😂

verdantverdure · 10/04/2023 20:38

Each weekend I sort out outfits for the working week and shove everything else to the other end.

The night before I get one out to hang on the outside of the wardrobe and add underwear and socks.

I can't stand thinking first thing in the morning and it only takes a few minutes on a Sunday. I used to do it every night but then it was a few minutes every night somehow Grin

Capitulatingpanda · 10/04/2023 20:53

No it's usually whatever I can dig out of the clean laundry baskets stacked up in the corner.

Neverknowinglysensible · 10/04/2023 21:01

Only as in I have enough tops ironed or clean jumpers, depending on the temperature, to last a week. My workplace has gone very relaxed since Covid so I can wear jeans and nobody cares any more.
