Not really but wear the same things for work so don't have to.

elQuintoConyo · 10/04/2023 08:21

I used to, when I had an office job.
Now I set out my clothes the night before, including jewellery.
The same for DS - use to be one clothes hanger per day (so we didn't forget pe day/art day/excursion/wear blue day etc), now he does it himself but just the night before.
It makes the morning easier.

I have a mad wardrobe, nothing is the same colour, so I've jotted down what matches what and sellotaped it inside the wardrobe door. Invaluable! I'm not a 'capsule wardrobe' kinda person, although all the colours match my skin tone (I've got rid of what washes me out).

I don't have a style either. I might be floaty hippy one day, a bit grungey the next, then smart, then bonkers - depending how I feel.

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 10/04/2023 08:22

Not for the full week, but I do get my clothes ready the night before as it makes my mornings so much less stressful.

soberfabulous · 10/04/2023 08:25

Yea and for me it's life changing. I have a separate running rail in the store room and I sort all my outfits for the week including knickers bras and jewellery! Saves me so much time each morning.

We both work full time in demanding jobs and have to leave the house at 7 as DD's school starts really early: as much prep the night before is a life saver.

RuthW · 10/04/2023 08:27

Yes I get all my outfits out for the week on a Sunday. My dd does the same. The night before I get out my underwear, tights etc.

UndercoverCop · 10/04/2023 08:30

I do think about what I'm wearing in the context of the week, I have some work clothes that are more casual/smarter than others, if I know I've got external meetings or I'm due in court that week I'll 'save' the smarter things for those days. Same as I knew we were going to a farm on Saturday so planned to wear jeans and flat boots.
I do get clothes ready the night before, everything including underwear.

I have theme weeks :) started to see if anyone would notice, no one has :)

I have shades of a colour week
i have dress week, jeans week, skirt week
i have a week of a particular label week

I love this idea! And I can see that actually it simplifies getting dressed.

LadyJ2023 · 10/04/2023 08:31

Nooooo lol 😆

Nothingbuttheglory · 10/04/2023 08:35

Not really. If I have plans to go Out I try to make sure my nice jeans are clean. For work I have about 6-7 outfits in rotation.

I have a fairly small wardrobe so choice is limited anyway.

CleaningOutMyCloset · 10/04/2023 08:37

Not unless I have to go into the office, but that's only once a month and I still only have a rough idea

Isoqueen · 10/04/2023 08:39

Not unless it is a special occasion . It depends on the weather, too.

Legoninjago1 · 10/04/2023 08:40

What?! No! I'm a massive planner but I don't do this! Now I'm thinking I should tho 😜

LlynTegid · 10/04/2023 08:46

I don't even plan ten minutes beforehand. Only vaguely planning bit is putting the washing in on the weekdays I work from home.

ExtremelyDetermined · 10/04/2023 08:49

No, I like to be a bit more spontaneous than that, and it depends on the weather too, especially in spring snd autumn. I put my clothes out the night before on weeknights but that's all. I used to do it for the DCs when they were little but they haven't kept up the habit as teens.

Oblomov23 · 10/04/2023 08:52

I wear the same clothes so it doesn't really require much forethought.

NancyJoan · 10/04/2023 08:53

No, but for work I have a few pairs of trousers on repeat, and lots of knits/shirts to go with them, so I don’t really need to plan. Dresses for days when I feel in the mood.

thirdistheonewiththehairychest · 10/04/2023 08:54

It never even occurred to be that people would do this.

blebbleb · 10/04/2023 08:55

No. I grab whatever is dry/clean. I tend to wear dresses so that doesn't need a lot of planning though.

Butteredtoast55 · 10/04/2023 08:58

I do. I check the weather forecast, see what's in my diary and plan accordingly. Then I make sure everything is ready on hangers. It's ridiculous I know but it helps life run more smoothly 😀

Is this serious?

DelurkingAJ · 10/04/2023 09:01

No, and I’m considered highly organised at work. But I also don’t wear make up or do my nails so maybe it’s more that being ‘put together’ simply isn’t my vibe.

IronBan · 10/04/2023 09:05

When I was working yes I did but it was more this is my outfit and I would wear it with slight changes to make as little laundry as possible. Now I’m retired I don’t plan in the same way but I keep stuff that’s a bit grubby to one side to wear again to do grubby jobs.

CrossEyedCrossFit · 10/04/2023 09:08

I used to when I worked full time and it made mornings so much better. I also would plan ahead if I'm going away. Checking weather, activities... etc.

I have since simplified my wardrobe so much that I have a uniform which works in any weather and for the places and activities that I normally do. Most of it is the same so now I only plan if I'm doing something or going somewhere unusual. It's very liberating because I bought the right fit, the right colours, the style I like and dressing is so easy. I used to empty the whole wardrobe trying things out and running late because my clothes were unrealistic to my lifestyle and body.

k1233 · 10/04/2023 09:16

I dress each week to match my nails. They're blue marble today, so I'll be picking blue things for work this week. They were candy egg pink with Easter decorations last week, so wore pink tones. Purple, red, green - got the colour wheel covered 😉

blebbleb · 10/04/2023 09:37

Can't say I've ever matched my nails to an outfit, but I get mine done about once a month. I've never noticed anyone's outfit and nails matching or mismatching.
