If I get a tummy tuck can I ask for no belly button?

I'm seriously considering a TT after a significant weightloss.

I hate bellybuttons. I hate mine. I hate cleaning it. I hate dealing with it when it gets yucky (happens quite a bit due to folds of skin from weightloss)

I would say I've got a bit of a phobia of them tbh.

When I see TT pics they look brilliant apart from the constructed belly button.

It freaks me out. It's what's put me off. Having some moved belly button that needs tending to heal.

Can I just say pull my skin down, stitch me up and don't construct a belly button?

I was thinking I could get one tattooed on down the line.

Will they think I'm crazy? 😂

I had a tummy tuck and asked this question and yes you can opt for no navel as long as they are removing enough skin. I decided to keep mine in the end but was very tempted and would have just had one tattoo'ed back on instead (I don't like the look of most reconstructed bbs, including now my new one sigh).

I've had a tummy tuck and have got a fake one and I love it! So neat with my flat tummy!

A relative lost hers yonks ago when she had a hysterectomy so its definitely possible to remove it. I don't think she misses it especially!

I got a new one with my TT and it's better, much more shallow than the original 😁

I have a belly button phobia too - I thought I was the only one.....

I've got an inny, would much rather have an outty. ☹️

It's your body, you can do what you like. One less thing to clean isn't it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm all for making your body better for you. Who gives a shit what people on the beach or whatever think?

But but, when you have the middle you've dreamed of and want to wear a crop top. People might think you weren't home grown. There would be stares.

It would be weird without a belly button. Maybe just ask for an outy.

I don't see why not, if you see some of the things plastic surgeons do to people which are quite horrific I think requesting no belly button is quite tame really.

I have a lovely looking belly button.

but this prompted me to google belly buttons (few images out there of the belly button less) and man there are some minging belly buttons out there!

I don't have a belly button - I had two laparoscopic surgeries and it disappeared in the process. I do have a little 'dent' but no actual 'button'.

It would probably look weird to other people but I'm used to it now, and I don't tend to go around with my belly on display so it doesn't matter!

On the subject of TTs, how much are they?? 😳

You can absolutely have a belly button removal during stomach/abdominal surgery. A friend of mine had hers removed as she was having a tummy tuck. She says it was the best thing she had ever done, but after several strange looks on the beach she got a much nicer one tatooed on her stomach and now nobody bats an eyelid.

To be fair, hers looked like a burst bag of pork scratching to start with.

If I saw someone on the beach without a belly button I would definitely be looking for where the batteries go in the back . And yes to how would you navel gaze 😄.

I know this is probably a joke, but im hoping to be in the same position as the OP next year (as in lost enough to be at this stage) and I am very very tempted by this idea 😂

Ok so so not the point - but those of you who have managed significant weight loss - want to tell me abit about how you did it? I know if I ever manage to lose weight I will have loose skin.

Depending on the amount of excess skin they may able to relocate your belly-button round to your back. That way at least you won't see it, but you'll still have in case of an emergency.

(although, I have to admit, I've never heard of an emergency belly-button - until now!)

You're being really weird op.
Your belly button is giving you grief now but when your stomach is flat and skin tight the belly button gets cleaned when you bathe or shower. You'll be mocked for not having a belly button.
