What did you buy cheap and found it lasted?

I bought a pair of £1 knitted gloves on the market. Keep them in the car and put them on every morning to drive with in the eintet ( cold steering wheel makes my hands hurt).

They have lasted 4 winters so far. Just washed them and put them away for next winter.

Ariston dishwasher and ceramic hob. Installed 1996 along with the plain real wood kitchen. Both still going strong. Kitchen plain as Jane, but has been painted a few times + new handles etc.. Older stuff lasts longest.

So the Ariston adverts were right then?! Showing my age here but didn't they used to sing "on and on and ariston" on the adverts? 😆

I bought a wheeled cabin suitcase from Primark in 2008 - I think it was about a tenner - and it's STILL going strong!

£6 potato peeler, amazing, only needed to replace it as I lost it.

I bought a colander in a junk shop in 1985 and it’s still in regular use today. I can’t remember how much it was, but I was a poor student at the time so it would have been pennies.

It has a single handle (like a saucepan) and so much easier to use than the ones with two small loop handles. I haven’t seen another like it.

My grandmothers mixer, given to her for her wedding in 1938. Unfortunately nan died last year age 102, but the machine is going strong and still makes lovely cakes and meringues!

That probably wasn’t cheap at the time though.

I bought a fleece (matching with my then husband 😂) and I still wear it occasionally. It is 40 years old and from C&A .

I've got a hair drier that I bought when I moved out of home (2003) I think it was about £15 from Boots. The original plug on it broke but I changed it myself and its still going strong. In case it does die I also have inherited my mums hairdryer from the 80s which also still works fine!

I paid 39p for my wooden spoon in 1991
