Voted guilty by the jury. Thank goodness.

"What are you being a nob for"

Because it's not a soap opera. It's actual people's lives. Every. Single. Day.

CosyCoffee · 31/03/2023 10:51

I read that Cashman's properties were rented, and I'd guess that his vehicles were leased. So not much to seize unfortunately.

I wonder what his partner will do now her cash flow is cut off? She looks high maintenance so I don't think she will like the drop in income.

Because in the eyes of the law, the intent to kill is enough to satisfy the definition of murder. The fact that he was aiming to kill someone else and killed Olivia instead doesn’t change the intent behind his actions.

Thanks for explaining.

I feel so sorry for his children. It can't be compared to the pain of Olivia's family but they are victims too. Selfish, reckless, spineless man.

According to that news report she, and her parents suspected he was a drug dealer, ( I think she knew full well that he was imo) she was more than happy to live off the money, unless she comes from a wealthy family then she's financially fucked.

@tillytoodles1
Maybe keep those thoughts to yourself, I'm sure her mother is haunted by that no need to put blame into on her.

You are disgusting @tillytoodles1

Good. Serves her right for being with a scumbag drug dealer and then standing by him knowing he murdered a child .

I was wondering about this. I can’t believe she can show her face in court dressed up like that. Who the hell does she think she is? Should she not be convicted for perverting the CoJ too? She MUST have known what he’d done. She must have been questioned.

What was so tragic about this is not only the murder but the fact that the community knew full well who had done it yet were too scared to come forward for so long. Imagine having to live somewhere like that ? It shows the absolute hold these gangs have and havoc they wreak. I wouldn’t often say it but I really hope he rots in jail.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 31/03/2023 17:07

well done to the woman who reported him to the police. we all like to think we'd be brave enough to do the right thing in the circumstances, but when it involves a man so violent and connected to the criminal underworld, well I can't be 100% sure I would.

Wittow · 31/03/2023 21:28

I think £200,000 and a new identity in witness protection would be enough of a sweetener.

Isthisexpected · 31/03/2023 21:42

enough of a sweetener.

^ to leave behind your loved ones, home, local town and job?!

Wittow · 31/03/2023 21:52

Yes. For a woman like her.

I hope all the middle-class drug users remember Olivia and people like her, caught in the crossfire of the lucrative drugs underworld, next time they contact their dealers.

This.

She did not get £200,000, she went to the police early in the investigation before any reward was offered. She put herself at great risk by speaking out

Yes it does totally serve her right...

Stomacharmeleon · 31/03/2023 22:58

When I think of witness protection I always think of Danielle cable who is still in hiding after her boyfriend being stabbed by Kenneth Noye. What that woman did in this case is very brave... particularly was they named her partner. Everyone will know who she is.

This is Liverpool. Shootings and stabbings daily. I live nearby. The police don’t bother with the latter, barely with the former unless it's newsworthy. It's a fucking cesspool. Glad this one was convicted.

Agreed. There’s a lot of acceptance of it, albeit a kind of reluctant acceptance.

And so many girls there who choose to ignore what their fellas are doing to earn all that money. They’d literally rather date a drug dealer than a guy with a decent office job or a trade.

CossyBunt · 01/04/2023 07:41

My heart goes out to Olivia's parents. Horrendous, needless tragedy.
Did you see Cashman's girlfriend in the newspaper photos, as she left court? Pouting with her duck lips in her pink coat? Utterly shameless. Does she think she is a wag? She's the girlfriend of a child killer and a complete mug. People like her ( and her child killer boyfriend) know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Wittow · 01/04/2023 07:54

Wonder if she'll "wait for him" to be released... or just move on to the next charismatic gangster.

She'll be waiting a long time, murder with firearm means a sentence starting tariff of 30 years

I agree with that. I was absolutely shocked to see her dressed up like that. Every single penny she has is as a result of crime.
