Botox gone wrong! Help

shimmerondown · 30/03/2023 11:00

So, I got my first ever Botox done last week and something odd has happened

There are now two permanent lines on my head? If you zoom in you'll see

Do I need to go back or is this normal? Asking as many Mn posters seem to be familiar with the treatment

I can’t see where you mean but Botox is usually 2 weeks to take full effect
Do you have a follow up appointment?

I can’t really see it either. Guess the taughtening of the skin might emphasise lines that would periodically crease.

I can't see it. But you have pretty eyes!

Botox takes a while to settle x

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 30/03/2023 11:08

I can't see where you mean either.

SarahC50 · 30/03/2023 11:12

Give it ten days. I get Botox on NHS for migraines in my forehead every three months. I no longer have any forehead lines, they will flatten out. Rest of face saggy and wrinkly just weird smooth forehead x

TruthsAndALie · 30/03/2023 11:12

No idea as can’t see a before and after. Are you saying you had zero faint lines on your forehead before? Where have you had the Botox etc.?

krill · 30/03/2023 11:17

Like truthsandalie I'd need to see a before photo. Did you have lines before ? It doesn't always get rid of them all and just softens them - especially depending on the sort of botox you had, how much and where injected.etc

Can you raise your eyebrows, and do you have some movement, for example, or did you opt for the full frozen forehead?

krill · 30/03/2023 11:19

We had a photo on here very similar last year (someone around mid 30s possibly) who thought that was a good result! Before pictures needed I think

krill · 30/03/2023 11:28

Though do you have a review booked? Usually two weeks and included in the price. Essential IMO.

Ikilledthebabysharkdododuhdodudoo · 30/03/2023 11:40

That hasn't gone wrong. Your skin has relaxed and so you can see the wrinkles that are already set in your skin. You could get those filled but honestly, they are so tiny no one else will notice them.

Gorgeous eyes.

TheOrigRights · 30/03/2023 12:03

We need to see a before and after photo.

Tomkirkman · 30/03/2023 12:25

I am assuming you mean the two fine lines across the forehead. That’s not wrong.

it’s just settling. They are so fine they will probably decrease or go in the next few months, especially if you have a good skin regime.

shivawn · 30/03/2023 12:31

I can see the two fine lines but only because I was looking for them.

This isn't Botox gone wrong trust me....I once had awful Botox where one side of my forehead was completely frozen and the other side wasn't. Anytime I raised my eyebrows only one eyebrow would jump up!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

RosesInWater · 30/03/2023 12:37

If those are lines to you I'm going to need Polyfilla.

CertainUncertain · 30/03/2023 12:41

Your practitioner should have booked you in for a two week follow-up. If they haven't phone and ask for one. My guess is that you're still in the settling phase and it will go, but if it doesn't, the odds are that there are different areas where you need a tiny bit of lift to make everything sit right together - all faces react differently. Hopefully it's a skilled medical practitioner.

I agree with the others, though, that it's extremely slight and you look great, so try not to hype focus on it.

shimmerondown · 30/03/2023 13:06

Thank you all

I'm 25 so was hoping on it being more flawless and not leave lines I didn't have!

Just chasing follow up now. It was done by a proper clinic in London

Side issue, and of course you are absolutely entitled to do whatever you want to your face, but at 25 no-one needs botox unless they've lives outside in 100 degrees without sunscreen and smoked 60 a day since they were 5. Your skin is beautiful, please don't let social media convince you otherwise.

Botox can be great maintenance for the over 35s. I would question the ethics of anywhere comfortable injecting someone your age. Unless it's for migraines or something.

That's my 2 pence, which you can completely ignore. But I am 46 and now know everything about the pressure on women. ;-p

DeeCeeCherry · 30/03/2023 13:17

I can see the lines but only as it's a very close up pic. However I don't feel Botox is supposed to result in lines that weren't there previously otherwise what's the point of Botox then?

Doesn't matter whether it will 'settle down', nobody at all would want lines to appear on their face that weren't there before. So yes, do go back to your practitioner. They need to explain how and why this has happened.

I'm surprised Botox was agreed for you, you're only 25! Please don't do it again, even Instant Wrinkle Filler which you can buy from a beauty counter/store would be fine for you. Leave the Botox alone for another 10 years or so.

2022again · 30/03/2023 13:27

please stop doing this now! 25 is so young are you seriously going to do this for the rest of your life?

CrystalCoco · 30/03/2023 13:33

I can see one line on your forehead - after botox this line shouldn't be here and especially if it wasn't there prior to having botox
Give it two weeks from the date of treatment and then follow up with the clinic - they should be offering a follow up session as routine anyway.

Why were you having it if you didn’t have lines? And are only 25.

if you don’t have lines and are young, it’s not going to make anything different

TheOrigRights · 30/03/2023 13:39

I worry about any professional suggesting botox is wise for a 25 year old.

shimmerondown · 30/03/2023 13:42

Thank you, the man doing it suggested it's good to start a bit young so you need less as you do get older

For context, I went for consultation to start with as my skin was looking a bit down and not as 'springy'

I am a carer on very little sleep and hit menopause after having my son at 20! Really noticed a different in my skin since starting HRT... and not for the better

Goodyetalso · 30/03/2023 13:43

You are 25! You don’t need this! (Well, nobody needs it but especially not in their 20s). If you didn’t have lines in the first place, why did you get it done? Just enjoy being young and fresh featured - don’t go down this route already, it will be relentless.
