Doesn't he say she skied into him which may be her fault depending who was where on the mountain . So doesn't it depend on who skied into who and who was where on the mountain. The person higher up has to "give way" to the person below and is in the wrong in a collision normally .

He was above her. He skied into her .

I don't know why she feels she has to clear her name - it was two people bumping into each other on the ski slopes. She isn't accused of anything heinous.

I should imagine she’s hacked off that he appears to be a cheeky fucker scammer.

she says he skied into her, so his fault. That he didn’t lose consciousness, he now says he was out cold for minutes. He claims he had a brain injury as a result, I suspect she thinks he’s making that up as well.

I can see why she wants to clear her name.

If she gets conned, it's no more than she's been doing to people for years. How many false advertising settlements has she paid now? Does she really have a good name to clear?

Yeah try telling that to the chancer who’s attempting to sue my DD (and therefore me as my DD was a minor) even though she was the uphill skier. 3.5 years and counting 😡

A candle that smells like her vagina probably

I thought this too 🤣

Unsure33 · 25/03/2023 00:54

He was suing for 3 million dollars originally and why just buckle and pay up just because you are a celebrity ?

I agree. I generally question her as she seems slightly wacky, but in this case, good on her

WitheredandOld · 25/03/2023 03:43

She lost the plot years ago but this guy sounds like a chancer. I totally get why she’s defending it.

frazzledasarock · 25/03/2023 04:08

Her counter suit is for $1 plus attorneys fees. Which may well turn out to be substantial.

PuttingDownRoots · 25/03/2023 05:16

Lawyers are definitely winning here.

merlinpass · 25/03/2023 05:35

Anyone want to have a guess on who seems to be winning at the moment?

Aside from the solicitors that is

QuintanaRoo · 25/03/2023 06:21

She says he was the uphill skier and he skied into her back, so his fault.

he says the opposite.

he also says that she skied off and left him injured and unconscious on the slope. She says she didn’t. That’s certainly not a nice thing to be accused of.

musingsinmidlife · 25/03/2023 06:53

The newest information is bizarre. She is relating him running into her to a sexual assault...

QuintanaRoo · 25/03/2023 06:56

I think she’s say8ng her initial thought was it a sexual assault, that someone’s body was pressed firmly up against her back. I guess she’s trying to emphasise that he skied into the back of her.

the thing I thought was odd that he’s found a doctor to testify that his broken ribs were most likely caused by someone skiing into the back of him. I know the ribs partially curve round the back but the majority of them are at the front. So I’d have thought broken ribs on him were more consistent with him skiing into the back of her.

Fridaysgirl17 · 25/03/2023 06:58

She is not relating him running into her as a sexual assault, she said it was a fleeting thought that went through her head in the moment it happened amongst other things which honestly is fair enough,if a man crashed into you in this situation out of the blue wouldn't you go through every possibility of oh my god what's happening am I being attacked? What just happened? Why? & Tbf she did clarify that once she had processed what was happening that it was in no way sexual

But even how she describes how they fell down is weirdly sexual. "“We came crashing down together. This man was behind me on the mountain, my knee – and our skis were still sort of tangled up. Our bodies were almost spooning and I moved away quickly. And my knees splayed open, and I was in shock.”

I get Gwyneth is weird but is she thinking he intentionally ran into her in an effort to rub his body against hers versus it being a crash?

Your rib cage completey encircles your body - front and back. Your ribs connect to your spinal column at the back and your sternum at the front.

HubertTheGoat · 25/03/2023 07:05

I just think this is a risk of skiing. There are always odd collisions. Yes the uphill skier should give way but it can be hard if the lower skier is an intermediate (worse than beginners to have around in many ways) and very unpredictable. Also, isn't Paltrow underweight? Even at speed I don't really see how she could take a man out with that amount of force.

Honestly no. At the time of the crash given it was from behind, she wouldn't have had a clue who it was. I have been run into on ski slopes and never once did sexual assault flash into my head. I have also crashed into people over the years and it would be very bizarre to me if they thought I was sexually assaulting them.

I have been taken out by kids! If they tangle your legs - it really doesn't matter what they weigh. Or if the collison makes you lose control - you are going to get taken out. Speed and a projectile don't require a lot of weight.

I skiied for over 20 years. Collisions happen often. I would say it would be rare to spend a day skiiing and not see at least a couple collisions on the hills. People lose control easily and if they aren't skilled skiiers, then speed and a loss of control means watch out below!

Chris Martin ? They have been uncoupled for a while now.
My mate used to chef for celebs and go touring with bands. She said that he was one of the nicest ones, he also used to eat pies on tour.

Well yes I know that. I was being...oh never mind.

WeAreTheHeroes · 25/03/2023 07:22

Obviously we don't have all the evidence, but this strikes me as classic case of chancer realises he crashed into someone rich and famous and it's his family bringing the lawsuit stating that the ski crash has brought about his personality change and memory loss. Given his age, it's entirely possible there are other causes.

His lawyer tried to make out GP ran off without swapping details afterwards because she went on her way, but her instructor did it for her. I thought that was very lame from the lawyer.

The $1 counter claim is to cover her legal costs. She's suffered no lasting injury, but wants to clear her name and if the guy's case isn't proved why should she have to cover the costs of defending herself?

She did say a few things flashed through her mind. What's going on? Is this a practical joke? Is someone attacking me?

But she quickly realised it was just someone who had crashed into her.

It makes sense to me that initially, different thoughts might cross your mind, when someone has crashed into your back.

I get you might not think that way. But we all have different experiences in life and our thought processes to understand something are different.

RandomMess · 25/03/2023 07:29

The man was unwell prior to the incident, previously had a stroke causing vision issues amongst other things. Then suddenly all these symptoms occur - each one could be explained by the original or subsequent stroke!

Seems like a complete chancer tbh.

NeverApologiseNeverExplain · 25/03/2023 08:50

It wasn't just initial thoughts though she then later described how they were tangled on the ground as spooning and that she had her knees splayed.

He crashed into her back on a ski hill (according to her version). She says she felt violated. Just like I would think it was weird if he had said he felt violated and like she was sexually assaulting him and then trying to spoon him in a tangled mess based on his version.

To each their own. I think sexualizing a ski crash and using words like assaulted, violated, pervert, spooning, knees splayed is weird. Accidents happen on ski hills regardless of who crashed into who.

I accidentally walked into a neighbour getting off the elevator yesterday as they were rushing around the corner to catch it. I would also think it weird if they described that encounter by referring to me as a pervert and that they felt violated and thought I was trying to sexually assault them.

I get what you're saying.

It's been a while since I've been skiing, so I'm just trying to relate it to if a stranger crashed into the back of me and we ended falling on the ground.

I cant remember her using the word pervert. But yes, I would use different words to describe:
Violated: in my personal space. Or he touched me
Spooning: my back to his front
Knees splayed: my legs were apart.

I don't think I've ever used the word "splayed" 😁

She blinks a lot when she’s testifying- distractingly so. I know that’s a commonly held belief of someone lying and I would have thought she does too so I am surprised she does it. Maybe dry eyes due to contacts?
