What's the worst film you've ever watched? Think I just melted my brain...

...by watching Spy Intervention on Prime. It has Drew Van Acker in it of PLL fame and I was looking for something a bit easy, he's pretty (I know, I know, very high brow of me) and dear GOD it was terrible. I may have to burn my own eyes out - was it a romance, was it a comedy? Was it just fucking terrible? yes, yes to the latter.

I can't quite believe I kept watching until the bitter end, I think I was expecting something to happen that would explain why it was so bad?

What's the worst film you've ever watched?

PS: DVA WAS pretty in it. Very. But it still wasn't enough to save it.

@NameChangeObvsx1 I likes EEAAO but the hot dog fingers were fookin disgusting

Shunkleisshiny · 21/03/2023 09:51

Another vote for Moulin Rouge, although thank God I watched the first 10 minutes on DVD so was able to turn it off.
Migraine on celluloid.

2001: a space odyssey. My taste in movies is a little off-beat, so I thought I would enjoy it but I didn't. And I tried so hard. Never want to try again, either.

Aworldofmyown · 21/03/2023 09:53

The Meg (and anything with Jason Statham)

CaptainCrazyPants · 21/03/2023 09:53

Can’t remember the name of the film. But four teenagers climbed down into a cave and couldn’t get back out. They were hunted by something in the cave. They eventually realised that the cave was in a time warp and they were being hunted by cave men. The world was moving much faster out of the cave but barely at all in the cave. Film ended with earth imploding and aliens rescuing them. Worst film ever but couldn’t turn it off because it was so bloody ridiculous!

50 Shades of Grey. How can a movie about sex be so boring?

That one to do the book full credit would never likely be a main stream production

IsItThough · 21/03/2023 09:56

Sliding Doors
The Talented Mr Ripley (only film I have ever walked out of)
I have made it a matter of policy never to watch Titanic, but I am sure it would have been third on the list.

whirlyhead · 21/03/2023 09:56

Top Gun Maverick. What a load of bollocks.

Another vote for Avatar - soooo boring.

Cattenberg · 21/03/2023 09:57

Moulin Rouge! should have been amazing, but I can’t stand Baz Luhrmann’s style of directing. He seemed to be more interested in “re-inventing the musical”, than telling a story. I thought the film was an overblown, incoherent mess. I prefer the old film (Moulin Rouge) starring Jose Ferrer.

When Australia came out, my then boyfriend really wanted us to go and see it. When I heard it was nearly three hours long and directed by Bazza, I refused to go. BF went on his own and later admitted it was shite.

LurkerTurnedPoster · 21/03/2023 09:57

Agree with others about Everything Everywhere All at Once - tried to watch it this weekend and gave up with more than hour to go - absolute nonsense!

Kazzyhoward · 21/03/2023 10:02

Mamma Mia. A classic example of people being cast because they're famous rather than because they have talent. Note to producer - in a Musical, cast people who can sing!

Blackberrybrandy · 21/03/2023 10:02

Nobody has mentioned "The Man who killed Hitler and shot Bigfoot" (or something close to that). The synopsis made it sound somewhat promising. In actuality it's incredibly boring and nothing actually seems to happen. There are a few moments where you go "oooo maybe this is it, it's going to get going" but nope, back to the most lacklustre conversation.
I can't watch anything with Jim Carrey in or Will Ferrell.

The Talented Mr Ripley (only film I have ever walked out of)

I loved this film! Brilliantly acted, beautifully shot, suspenseful and disturbing. I thought the way it made you root for the villain was very clever, albeit discomforting.

Buggersticks · 21/03/2023 10:07

Mamma Mia (saw first 20 mins and was furious I'd wasted even 20 minutes of my life) Colin? Really? You had no better offers?

The Holiday (Cameron Diaz etc) Terrible overacting and badly cast. I know there are a lot of folks against me here, but I felt so embarrassed for the actors.

StiggyZardust · 21/03/2023 10:10

Mamma Mia
Avatar

Todaynotalways · 21/03/2023 10:11

Into the Wild.

Spoiled rich kid, unthinkingly disappears, I was willing him to be eaten by a bear from the first 10 minutes.

Ifnottodaywhen · 21/03/2023 10:15

The curious case of Benjamin Button. Absolutely dire. And Avatar, the one with the blue aliens.

WickedSerious · 21/03/2023 10:15

A Fish Called Wanda.

Trickedbyadoughnut · 21/03/2023 10:15

The most recent 'Persuasion'.

I knew it was nothing like the book. That's fine, I thought, I'll just treat as a different film, a standalone. I'll take it on its own merits.

Couldn't get past the first 15 minutes. It was like Carry On Costume Drama.

Chemenger · 21/03/2023 10:18

Life of Pi, closely followed by Cowboys and Aliens (which if it had had even an iota of humour could have been quite good).

Is that the one with Dakota Johnson in it?I couldn't get past the trailer. It looked really BAD!

Yarboosucks · 21/03/2023 10:21

Rubber. I kid you not, a car tyre comes to life with the power to make people explode and goes on a murderous rampage through the Californian desert

Andanotherone01 · 21/03/2023 10:21

Dogma - WTF was that even about? Spanglish - boring crap and Tea Leone has zero charisma or likeability.
I also hated WALL-E

TheMarzipanDildo · 21/03/2023 10:22

I love Hot Fuzz (and can’t work out what anyone could possibly dislike about it!) and The Talented Mr Ripley.
