If we’re all sitting comfortably the exciting news is from the 14th June they are changing the vouchers so that when we exchange club card vouchers for fun days out they will now only be worth 2x the value instead of 3x.

Well thank you very much Tesco. In a cost of living crisis when the supermarkets are earning a fortune we really appreciate you robbing our children of fun family days out. Absolutely brilliant. Slow hand clap for you and your shareholders.

@mushroom3 I've just Googled 'Tesco clubcard deals two together railcard' and it took me straight to the link.

Yay, exciting news alright. Like the time the national lottery increased the ticket price by 100% and explained that this was because customers wanted to pay £2 for a ticket instead of £1 - that's right, it was totally what the customers wanted.

thanks @bigbluebus

I often read this stuff and feel like replying
......please.define exciting!

To be fair they didn’t actually say it was exciting, at least not in the email I got, it just said ‘important news’.

And I think ‘robbing our children’ is a bit OTT.

I only recently started using Tesco more regularly for the rewards, I’ll be switching back to Lidl and Aldi now. Hopefully Tesco will lose a lot of custom from this and rethink it.

I abandoned Tescos when they went to 3x rewards, poor online shopping service always get such a lot of random substitutions. The stores themselves are just soul destroying vast warehouses of stuff made even worse by the decision to remove bakery, butchers, deli and pizza counters.

It's a pain, but think I'll get myself a tesco credit card so I build loads more points anyway.

Chersfrozenface · 19/03/2023 20:21

I used to shop at Tesco a lot. But they scrapped the Tesco Metro brand (the reasonably sized store I could get to on public transport) and raised the prices to Tesco Express levels i.e. much higher. So I stopped going there

Due to mobility issues I now mostly get deliveries, and Tesco charge twice as much as Asda for the delivery itself. So I don't get stuff from Tesco Extra.

With the reduction in the Clubcard points, I'll look at dumping my Clubcard credit card as well.

TL:DR Tesco are now completely crap, goodbye Tesco.
