Gin would be a terrible suggestion. The point of the advert is that mothers are all individuals who have their own likes and dislikes and do not necessarily fit into demographic marketing cliches. Proposing gin would suggest the opposite.

Meant ‘only men’, you put trans women into category of men, that’s on you.

They are men. You're delusional if you think they're not.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 15/03/2023 17:19

I'd be happy a bottle of whiskey but I'd want a better one than that!

Gin would be great. The label for mothers day could contain a picture of Hogarths Gin Lane.

blended whisky? No thanks...would appreciate a Speyside or Highland single malt though

NotJohnWick · 15/03/2023 17:38

DH's Amazon suggested various household products, including lemon scented bin bags, as Mothers Day presents. The whiskey is a better shout.

LittleFingerStrength · 15/03/2023 17:47

I have never known any woman pick whisky.

How about the ones on this thread who've said they like whisky?

I like a good aged singer actually Wink

Me too, bit that's all I'm saying about them.😁

Abraxan · 15/03/2023 17:55

Not sure you'd want the blended whisky nest would you though? Surely only single malt if having it neat, blended usually needs a mixer.

No issue with the ad really though. It's true not all women want flowers for Mother's Day. Nothing wrong with whisky if that's what she'd prefer.

ActDottie · 15/03/2023 18:20

I don’t understand the problem with it

In terms of the target market and most typical buyer of whisky then pretty much yes.

Some women drink it yes, but the majority of drinkers of it are men.

Is that because the advertising is usually aimed at men…?

Or trans women if you look at who I was quoting in my post.
