Why am I not tanning?

I'm so so white
I have dark brown hair and blue eyes
I can sit in the sun for hours on holiday (currently )
Obviously I wear a sunscreen (normally spf30) and I never ever change colour
When I was younger I would go on the sunbed for 6 mins 3 x a week but I also never changed colour (or even burnt )
Why am I not even getting a slight glow?
Been in the canaries for a week now at 26/27 degrees (feels hotter ) but no colour change at all.

You're really not taking on board what everyone is telling you, are you?

I used to get hung up on this and would do anything to tan! I ended up with a very suss mole which had to be removed.

Since then, I buy total sun block and and do my best not to burn etc.

There's so much more to life than a tan.

@cherylsaidno I eats lots of carrots before going to the beach and get a fabulous tan . Been doing this for years (my protection is 50+ though)
