Recommendation for bouquet of flowers
Timeflieswhenyourehavingfun · 12/03/2023 12:32
I’m in Ireland I want to send a bouquet of
flowers to a relative in the UK.
Budget approx £60.
Any recommendations or any to avoid ?

Serenata have always sent great flowers when I've used them.

If you don't know a florist local to the person whose style you like/you would trust then here are my thoughts, I'm a former florist:
I've used Haute Florist to send flowers a number of times and the recipients have fed back how good the flowers were. The packaging is very smart.
I wouldn't use M&S anymore. The product is fine, but their delivery service, Yodel I think, has wrecked things more than once.
Waitrose Flowers have been good.
I've received flowers from Arena Flowers and they were a very attractive design and excellent quality.
I couldn't recommend Eflorist. I received an arrangement from them in December and it was terrible, with lots of broken stems and dead flowers. When I complained with photos and a full description they tried to palm me off with "give them some water and a couple of days and they'll perk up". Took over a week to get a satisfactory replacement from them.
Hope that helps.

I've had a really shoddy experience with Waitrose - they agreed to deliver on a Sunday, didn't and then couldn't have cared less.
Marks and Spencer's flowers are lovely.

I generally go for M&S. Not much choice but top quality. Have also used other supermarkets and Interflora.
I'll not use Bloom and Wild again after utterly shocking bouquets were sent to two elderly relatives in nursing homes. I was absolutely mortified when sent the photos. Never again.

Bloom & Wild have been great for me, with one exception (and I've ordered from them a lot!) and their customer service was excellent. M&S I've consistently had problems with!
sausagekitten · 12/03/2023 13:21
I always choose dried flowers now as they last for years!

Thanks for recommendations, will have a look online.
cosmiccosmos · 12/03/2023 13:26
I think this is really difficult. It's so hit and miss. I also would avoid M&S, have had to complain about last 3 deliveries being damaged. It maybe Yodal's handling but that's not my problem. Rather embarrassingly they informed the sender so I had to explain to them too.
I think the best thing is to use local/independent.
Timeflieswhenyourehavingfun · 12/03/2023 13:34
Will definitely be avoiding Eflorist. My sister used them in December to send a bouquet and what they delivered was awful. 3/4 stems of sparse carnations and a few twigs as greenery. Want to avoid the same happening.
BronnauMawrion · 12/03/2023 13:37
I always use Bunches. They deliver when they say they will, the flowers are always great quality, and the prices are good. They also do points off your next order, and there is always a discount code around. Current codes include MARCAL23 for free chocolates.
Hangryasfuck · 12/03/2023 13:53
I use M & S. The only time I had cause to
complain, they replaced the flowers straight away.
FredaFox · 12/03/2023 13:58
I use bloom and wild and you can toggle between Ireland and uk in the corner
Coxspurplepippin · 12/03/2023 15:32
Usually find a local florist with decent reviews - find you generally get more flowers this way.
Maximo2 · 18/03/2023 18:57
Right, don’t bother with M&S, I got my Mum a £35 bouquet that was delivered today and it is absolutely awful. So pissed off. They have apologised and given me a refund and £5. But they have ruined my gift for Mother’s Day. I can’t believe I was recommending them as well not so long ago!

OneAndDon3 · 18/03/2023 21:10
Gosh that's terrible. How can someone possibly have sent it out thinking it was ok?
Greensleevevssnotnose · 18/03/2023 21:12
I sent my mum a planted arrangement from m and s atprrived today and it's stunning

Exactly! It’s not bloody rocket science.
Bluevelvetsofa · 19/03/2023 13:38
Because M&S use Yodel, they won’t be getting any of my business again. Waitrose flowers were mostly woody stems. Bloom & Wild have been decent and I sent some to a friend from Prestige flowers and they were well received.
Riverlee · 19/03/2023 13:42
Next are pretty reliable and recipients have always been happy. Have also used Flying Flowers, Bunches and Bloom and Wild. It’s usually a good idea to register with the company first as then they’ll send you discounts.
katscamel · 19/03/2023 14:59
Flying Flowers have been great and their customer service is brilliant. I made a mistake on my order and emailed to ask if they could change it. The first email was very weird and not at all like their usual customer service so I emailed back to complain. Result... got to keep the extra bit ordered and 25% discount.
Previously, several years ago now, post was delayed ...so the flowers were sitting in the sorting office... they sent another bunch.
The flowers are always lovely and last a couple of weeks.
