DD had her ears pierced just before Christmas. She was so excited to change them after six weeks so changed them loads until last week she pulled one through from the back. I told her to put one pair in and stop changing them but tonight the backs have gone into her ears. How do i get them out?

Behave. You could apply that to pretty much most stupid accidents. Ds: went too fast on his bike and suspected broken rib. Dd: broken wrist after trampoline accident.
Any infected piercing/tattoo.
Pissed up people ending up in a&e at weekends.
Etc

This happened me 3 times as a child. Wasnt allowed earrings after that. My mum and Nanny held me down with tweezers and poked until finally got it out

I don't really understand how this happens? A butterfly earring back is so much bigger than the piercing hole! Does the hole get stretched?

This happened to me a couple of time. Mine were done by a proper piercer and it was just one of those things. First time I went to the walk in centre and the nurse removed and unfortunately the piercing closed up. The second time I went back to the piercer who got it out for me and I kept the piercing.

I think it's often the case with children who play with the earrings, pull them out etc.
It's not something that's ever happened to me in 40 years of having pierced ears!

Glad it was resolved and she didn't scream the place down like some pp said. Ouch.

I remember the butterfly being tiny- which was part of the attraction, after giant studs. I probably pushed them in too far, then slept in them. Guessing the flesh was already soft and able to stretch gradually. I suspect being 11,I ignored the problem until I couldn't any longer.

I didn't scream in the Dr. I remember crying, but feeling ashamed of myself for a. Getting into that state and b. Crying in front of my family Dr and looking like a wuss.
