It looks pretty big/mature. I scrolled past your photo thinking it was an ad!
does it matter what stage they are? Surely you just treat yourself/family either way? Creepy wee fecks tho - sympathy.

DanseAvecLesLoup · 28/02/2023 22:38

Key stage 3

FictionalCharacter · 28/02/2023 22:56

Those are adults, sorry.

sailrunski · 28/02/2023 22:59

So mumsnet - lice on the Boden catalogue 😭😂

Sorry about your lice problem though OP

mushforbrain · 28/02/2023 23:01

Slather hair in cheap conditioner and comb every inch with a nitty gritty comb. Repeat every few days to get any newly hatched. Lice are apparently getting resistant to chemical treatments and the conditioner/comb treatment is v effective

laundryschmaundry · 28/02/2023 23:03

Anyone else's head itching just looking at them..?

FannyFifer · 28/02/2023 23:08

They are full grown egg laying lice, u have a big infestation.
Nitty gritty comb, conditioner, good luck.

Rovinonmars · 28/02/2023 23:08

Lots of conditioner and combing with a nitty gritty or whatever it's called. hedrin once worked for my family. Good luck

Liceylicey · 28/02/2023 23:11

Oh no really ? Adult size ?

i was hoping they were just before adult size

AdventFridgeOfShame · 28/02/2023 23:12

Oooh, that is a total grown up breeding louse.

Bit like the day I had an itchy head in Tesco and puled the blighter out of my hair in the veg isle. I screamed

Treat, treat and treat again, treat the kids, DH, DMil and everyone.

Liceylicey · 28/02/2023 23:12

The lice on ds were smaller
so maybe he caught them from me rather then other way round
hes primary school age

OP posts:
AnuSTart · 28/02/2023 23:13

Definitely adults.
We had 3 separate rounds of the wee bastards over Xmas. Endless.

Liceylicey · 28/02/2023 23:13

Hopefully I don’t have a big infestation ! Dd could only find two in my head

OP posts:
Liceylicey · 28/02/2023 23:15

The ones on ds back
do they look smaller than the one on the Boden catalogue
ps sorry about that but it was sitting on the coffee table and only arrived today
so not binned it yet !!

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 28/02/2023 23:17

Do you happen to have a black light? Might have one in a kids spy kit or Playmobil set or something?

Someone told me that lice glow under a black light and I've been waiting for DD to get them ever since so I could test the theory. If it works them that would make it so much easier to find the little fuckers and get rid of them.

BrigitteBond · 28/02/2023 23:18

I'm obviously a dick. I was why you were worrying about (or could even see) a picture of a louse in a catalogue. 🤣

mrsfollowill · 28/02/2023 23:18

Sympathy - we have been there in this house. Mumsnet advice is always the smother in conditioner/nitty gritty comb or Hedrin. These never worked for us. The only thing that did it way 'Lyeclear'- yes chemical but it blasted the wee fuckers away. Two treatments each for me and DS and banished after messing around combing for hours and hours.

MyOldFriendTime · 28/02/2023 23:19

Why are they on his back? <shudder> That's a total infestation if they're not even staying put on your heads 😬

RedKite20 · 28/02/2023 23:23

Just to underline two previous posts…
the best way to treat an infestation is lots of conditioner, then, leaving conditioner in, louse comb. If no conditioner, it doesn’t work. Conditioner seems to weaken the insects’ grip
Good luck

motherhoodroad · 28/02/2023 23:25

They’re as big as can be. Fully grown.

gives me the itch just looking. Lots of treatment and hot washing of bed linen/hats/hooded coats
