How many calories would you say this is?

One whole white cabbage, chopped up. Two grated carrots. One sliced white onion. 300g fat free natural yoghurt. Dash of paprika and teaspoon of mustard. Dump all into a mixing bowl and serve a quarter of this onto your plate.

How many calories on the plate?

OP posts:
Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 27/02/2023 12:31

Less than 100, why though?

TimeForMeToF1y · 27/02/2023 12:32

Why not weigh the items and work it out, if you need the proper answer thats got to be better than random guesses

IHeartGeneHunt · 27/02/2023 12:32

About 100

300

Sarahcoggles · 27/02/2023 12:34

Sorry, 300 total. Less than 100 on plate.

Gymmum82 · 27/02/2023 12:34

A little over 100 calories. Between 100-150 I’d estimate

GiltEdges · 27/02/2023 12:36

125ish

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 27/02/2023 12:36

About 150, depending on the size of the cabbage and the carrots.

BarbaraofSeville · 27/02/2023 12:37
  1. Look on the side of the pot for the yogurt.
  2. Weigh your vegetables and look at the nutritional info on a supermarket website for those
  3. ignore the mustard and paprika because it will be tiny

Add up 1 and 2 and divide by 4.

bellac11 · 27/02/2023 12:48

You need to weigh things out. Its impossible to say, an onion can be 200g or 100g, a carrot could be a big carrot or a small one. The yoghurt depends on the brand. Again a cabbage could be half a kilo or more, or a tiny one.

Is there something going on here op? A healthy diet doesn't need such restricted calorie intake as a daily occurrence.

Just in case you want to have a look ^^

Hollyhead · 27/02/2023 12:52

About 100 I would say.

Springintoabetterlife · 27/02/2023 12:53

I dunno. Are you eating it by itself?

catsandkid · 27/02/2023 12:57

About 300ish I think

catsandkid · 27/02/2023 12:58

For total, that is.

Bit of a jump on your behalf?

OP didnt say thats all they were eating in one day or that they are restricting calories or even dieting (although they might be), or that they eat this type of meal all the time

Cotswoldmama · 27/02/2023 13:02

Are you planning on eating a whole cabbage?! I don't think that's a good idea! When I was at uni one of my friends ended up in hospital having to drink charcoal after eating a whole I energy lettuce in one go. Cabbage isn't as acidic but could have potentially explosive results l, which I imagine could be quite painful.

TimeForChanges123 · 27/02/2023 13:07

Lol no it's fine guys I just had a go at making my own coleslaw. It is definitely NOT the only thing I eat! I calculated it around 100 calories too, so a healthy snack... but eaten with plenty of cheese lol! 😃

@bellac11 asking a question is a leap? Don't be daft.

I find it very difficult to shred vegetables in the way thats needed for coleslaw but equally hate shop bought because its so wet but equally greasy and claggy

I remember Asda used to sell packages of undressed coleslaw but they dont seem to anymore. I dont want to buy a food processor just to shred coleslaw ingredients

How did you find the fat free yoghurt as the dressing? I would have thought its too bitter. Full fat greek yoghurt would probably taste better

UnfinishedBusiness · 27/02/2023 13:28

If you go on the Nutracheck website (or app I think) you can have a free seven day trial. It’s a great website, and app (I just have the app now, it’s cheaper). You can make your own recipes by adding ingredients and saying how many portions per recipe.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 27/02/2023 13:34

I would guesstimate about 150.

I thought it tasted quite nice but then I'll eat almost anything if it has an onion in it! Though next time I'll go for red onion instead as I much prefer the taste of those, or maybe even both. You can buy grated carrot in Tesco, the cabbage I chopped was thicker than ready bought coleslaw but still good enough :-) I'm having some tonight with a little jacket spud and 30g of grated cheese

bellac11 · 27/02/2023 14:26

You cant beat home made coleslaw.

3WildOnes · 27/02/2023 14:32

Less than 100. 75 maybe.
