Is it as bad as mine?

Mouse liver (albeit spat out)

I think you need to have this posted right at the top of the Parenting page Op so that all the new Mothers can stop worrying! All the time and care they put into weaning and the lttle beggers will eat aything if they find it- except, of course, vegetables😂

There are some doozies here!

My eldest sister ate wet cat food out of the bowl, on all fours. I remember my mother smacking her and telling her off. Later, she gave her a bowl of cat food for dinner!

She didn't make her eat it.

My daughter went through a phase of eating half chewed sweets off the ground, in Reception. No amount of telling off did any good, but eventually, her friends noticed and said she was disgusting.

I ate a 1/4 inch ball bearing, which my mother said went through OK, but I was too young to remember that.

A sheep poo

ramanw · 04/03/2023 19:07

My Daughter ate a load of the little balls from a beanbag.

She was about 18 months old and I was trying to empty the beanbag so I could wash it (don't ask). Anyway, they went all over the floor. I saw her diving towards the balls but assumed she'd only put a couple in her mouth.

Went to pick her up from nursery the next day and they said they had found loads of white balls in her poo. They thought they were some sort of eggs initially and then they worked it out 🙈. Worlds worst Mum.

SinnerBoy · 04/03/2023 19:11

Eggs which hatch into thousands of polystyrene monsters!

LegoLady95 · 04/03/2023 19:20

His brother's poo

Stressedafff · 04/03/2023 19:25

half a manky double cheeseburger on the floor in the shopping centre. She was fuming when I took it off her!

RiverSkater · 04/03/2023 19:27

Sudocrem and mud. Not together though.

ladygindiva · 04/03/2023 19:38

A slug in the garden ( chewed and spat out) 😱

My DD ate a stranger's toast crusts off the ground in a car park once 😱

Lizardonachair · 04/03/2023 19:53

Bird poo and a moth (separate occasions) I'm so glad that phase is over!

botheritsgone · 04/03/2023 19:54

A slug in the garden. I nearly threw up when I was cleaning her up. I just turned away from her for a second to help her sister off our slide.
Oh and sand, so much sand consumed at nursery. When it came out the other end, her nappies were like cement. It was horrific! Confused

Sunflower seeds are a good source of protein! Not sure about the cotton wool 😂

The mouse liver was found by DC age 1, on the carpet in the middle of the play area amongst the toys. Thanks Cat. You could've had your midnight snack ANYWHERE but you just had to choose around the kids toys.

Tbh I'm just highly impressed you know it was a mouse liver 😆

TourmalineGiraffe · 04/03/2023 19:57

My child had issues, are her own Poo and once at a national trust place ate peacock Poo.
Thank fully she was fine. Although, as a terrified uptight mother, I spent ages trying to google the dangers of ingesting peacock Poo, the internet did not seem to know.

Half a slug. I only managed to fish the other half out of his mouth but he had already swallowed some.

Omg. I feel so sick 🤢 I have a huge aversion to slugs as does my DS. When he was little (toddler age) he used to see one and say "Mummy, slugs make my dinkle feel funny" and had a bit of a phobia of them. Obviously runs in the family BlushGrin

A 10p coin

StillMedusa · 04/03/2023 20:00

DD1... woodlice.
DS2 part of a gold necklace chain. (I was at work and dh was looking after him.. it came through him ok)
DS2 also lots of crayons. Playdough, paper, wood. His headboard off his bed. All his t shirts. He has autism and pica! And the constitution of an ox!

My favourite though was at the special school I work in. 7 year old went for a poo.. (newly toilet trained and needed help to clean up) Noticed there were two brightly coloured Hungry Hippo balls in his poo!!

Horror as we thought he might have swallowed them at school.. then remembered we didn't have that game in class.
Handed him over to Dad at hometime, told him, and he was 'Oh dear, I thought we were a few balls short!' Grin

Omg the horror! Mouse!! My DC was about 11m and we were at a child friendly place with a couple of his baby friends, some of the mums got snacks out and they were like little zombies going for the food, picking it off the floor etc. I was quite disgusted but trying to act 'cool' as the other mums weren't bothered. Suddenly DC grabs something from underneath a chair, then spits it out. It looked like it had been there for a couple of months 🤮

Lordofmyflies · 04/03/2023 20:02

Ds ate a tub of bottom butter. He also ate a Christmas tree decoration, (glass bauble), which was an AE job and used to graze grass like our rabbits.

VintageThoughts · 04/03/2023 20:03

A Children In Need Pudsey Bear pin badge.
Made for an interesting x-ray though 😬

You know it's major when you can't find it on the internet! 😀

GHxx · 04/03/2023 20:04

So far.. he’s 18 months but ate burnt wood from the floor in front of the fire the other day (the fire was off). Approached me with a black mouth 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

WindowGazers · 04/03/2023 20:10

My friend's daughter ate a xanax when she was two. My friend had popped the tablet out and it pinged across the room. She searched high and low and couldn't find it so presumed it went under a gap in their fitted kitchen. Lo and behold her daughter found it and she had to fish it out of her mouth all chewed up! A&E trip later and she was fine.

MmedeGouge · 04/03/2023 20:13

An earwig.
I saw him bite it in half, and swallow it. He refused to spit out the other half too. Despite me wresting with my fingers through his clamped jaws.
Now aged 21 at University studying Entomology. (Not really).
No harm done.

Jigsawsandcoffee · 04/03/2023 20:22

My sister drank a quarter of a bottle of white spirit when she was a toddler (A&E, was fine).
My child sucked an old lump of chewing gum off the supermarket trolley handle when she was sitting in the seat at the front. She managed to swallow it before I could get it out. I was so shaken up I didn't finish the shopping
