My 11yo gets really excited when I let her reorganise a kitchen cupboard!!

Please say I'm not the only one with kids who like strange things?

Haha I have the housekeeping type of children who will have one very tidy drawer but the rest of the room will be absolute mayhem 😂

DS3 (10) loves coming with me to take the car through a car wash. Our local one has a 'menu' for the different wash cycle options that sounds almost like a set of spa treatments for cars and DS loves it. He has actually commented that going through the carwash "is a bit like going to a theme park" Grin Bless him. I'll be sad when he loses that ability to find magic in the little things.

My then 6/7yo used to ask to go to our local Homebase to look at the kitchens and bathrooms. Admittedly, our own kitchen and bathroom were quite crap at that time!

He also liked to do the polishing.

And eat raw spaghetti.

Loving these stories. I have a 3yo bus / bin lorry / shop names / IKEA fan who also likes videos of Big Ben chiming. Only videos though, he was distinctly underwhelmed when I took him into central London to see it for real.

One of my daughters loves to polish things, especially glass. Could give her some rags and a spray bottle of glass cleaner and she will do all the windows and mirrors she can reach- she is pretty good at it too.
When she was four we visited a family who had a wine rack full of dusty bottles and she begged to clean them- she was so thrilled, just sitting on their floor seeing how shiny she could get them to be.

The other loves using a spatula to swipe all the remnants out of a bowl. Whenever we bake she is most excited to get out a spatula and "sploop" any mixture. We bought her a spatula (a thick sturdy silicone one) for her fifth birthday and she was so happy.

Wonderful little weirdos
