Anybody giving anything up? I am contemplating sugar. I have a sugar in my tea, and some days that's 4 or 5 cups...

Giving up eating crisps for breakfast, yes I'm terrible. 🙈

MrsAvocet · 21/02/2023 23:25

I'm giving up all snacks except fruit. Just had my last chocolate digestive with a cuppa before bed.
I've got a big operation coming up this year and could do with shedding a few pounds before then so I've got extra incentive to stick to it

Chocolate, booze and coffee I’ve not made myself, or rather coffee I have to pay for when out and about. I’m putting what I’d spend in a jar, giving a portion of that to charity and treating myself to something nice at the end of it all.

Catdaft · 21/02/2023 23:42

Chocolate. I always do Chocolate every year and it's so difficult 😩

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 21/02/2023 23:46

Chocolate and crisps. I give up chocolate every year, not sure how I'll manage without both when everyone is snacking around me though.

BillLius · 21/02/2023 23:47

I’m giving up fresh vegetables.

Snacking. Going to OMAD fast for Lent and hope it kickstarts me getting back to a healthier way of life and weight which has crept up over winter.

TerrifiedandWorried · 27/02/2023 17:43

Just thought I would report back to say 1 week without processed sugar and I've lost 4lb, skin is really clear, bags of energy!

JaneJeffer · 27/02/2023 17:52

I could kill for a glass of wine.

stbrandonsboat · 27/02/2023 18:14

I follow the Orthodox Lent and we have to be vegan, but with no oil either, apart from at weekends.

@RenegadeKeeblerElf hands over my ears I don’t want to know about Sundays because I’d be back to square one.

When is Lent actually over though. Maundy Thursday ? Easter Saturday or Sunday itself? Maybe I need to learn to count to 46 better.

TokyoSushi · 27/02/2023 20:01

I have done chocolate and treat stuff like cakes/pastries etc. I've been ill so it's not been too bad but it's starting to make me very sad!

🤣

Easter Sunday is the first day of 'not Lent'

Thanks to this thread I decided to do 16:8 fasting for Lent, partly as a 'self denial' type challenge and partly to reset my eating as I had been binging a lot of junk food. I've actually really enjoyed it (and didn't even give myself a day off on Sunday 😉). Weigh in day is Weds so we'll see then how much difference it has made to my weight loss, should be good though as I'm snacking less (and have also given up chocolate!)
