Eek, I think that is pushing it tbh. It would probably be OK, but not certain I would risk it.

TheFallenMadonna · 20/02/2023 09:25

Wouldn't bother me at all.

Crazycatlady202020 · 20/02/2023 09:25

I would personally eat it today, but not after today

RosesAndHellebores · 20/02/2023 09:26

If it looks.good and smells good absolutely fine.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 20/02/2023 09:26

I would definitely eat it.

TheArtfulScreamer1 · 20/02/2023 09:27

Absolutely fine eat it or freeze it.

ouch321 · 20/02/2023 09:38

Yes I'd say anything up to a week or so after cooking.

Cupcakequeen75 · 20/02/2023 09:40

I would.

If it doesn't smell and have blue fur then I would heat it thoroughly and enjoy.

Aldisfinest · 20/02/2023 09:46

No way. I probably would have eaten at Saturday evening the latest. But tbh I can be a bit funny with food leftovers.

MrsRinaDecker · 20/02/2023 09:48

A lot of those meal prep videos, they cook lunches on Sunday for the rest of the week don’t they? So I reckon properly stored leftovers should be ok for 4-5 days.

caringcarer · 20/02/2023 09:52

I keep my fridge on 3 degrees. If you keep fridge at lower temperature food tends to keep for longer.

bellac11 · 20/02/2023 09:54

If you bought a ready meal bolognese on Thursday its likely to have a use by date much later than today

JupiterFortified · 20/02/2023 09:57

As long as it’s been in the fridge I would eat it. I’d probably eat a bolognaise or anything else made with beef or lamb mince up to a week after cooking it.

LimeCheesecake · 20/02/2023 09:58

I generally good cooked meat (that has then been refrigerated) a week. So yes, although make sure you properly heat it up.

00100001 · 20/02/2023 10:00

It'll be fine

GiltEdges · 20/02/2023 10:24

I probably wouldn't, but I couldn't say why really. I think mentally I just have a 3 day rule for leftovers because that's what my mum always told me growing up. It'll probably be fine though.

NCgoingdry · 20/02/2023 10:27

A week?! We can really leave things for a week. I had no idea.

What are the rules on - if I defrost a pack of mince. Cook it. Can I refreeze the leftovers??

Yes, and is likely to have been made 2-3+ days before purchasing!

NCgoingdry · 20/02/2023 11:56

@00100001 This is life changing information.

bloodyplanes · 20/02/2023 12:02

Food safety standards say 72 hours, which would have been last night. Personally I would probably eat it today but definitely not after today.

MrsSkylerWhite · 20/02/2023 12:03

I’d eat it after a good blast in the microwave. Wouldn’t give it to kids or anyone elderly or vulnerable.

It is also likely had lots of preservatives added to it to extend that shelf life, which homemade food does not have!

ReviewingTheSituation · 20/02/2023 12:03

I definitely would! Wouldn't even think about it.

FindingMyselfIn2023 · 20/02/2023 12:10

Bolognaise and cheese on jacket potatoes it is then! Grin

Got a feeling DH will be a bit funny about it in which case he can make himself something else
