Has anyone bought anything off vinted?

I've just discovered vinted and I'm obsessed
I got a Zara blazer new with tags for £7 (£10 with postage ) which was originally £59.99
I wanted it last year but couldn't justify the price
Another new look blazer £6 (£9 postage ) which had tags on.
I've just found a nice Zara shirt for £7 this morning
So many bargains
My friend says she would rather do without than buy second hand but I think it's great.
I would only buy new with /without tags and possibly very good (if worn once etc )
Anyone found any good bargains ?

Tell you're friend there is so much stuff in there that's new, has tags on etc. Maybe that will convince her.

I absolutely love Vinted. I've used it for years to get lovely baby clothes for my two babies. Lots of premium stuff I couldn't afford in the shop I'd get there for £1-3.

We recently moved house and all I do is buy rugs, curtains, shelves etc. It's brilliant!

I absolutely love Vinted. I’ve replaced my entire wardrobe using it and get my DD’s clothes there too. When she’s grown out of them I resell! I’ve got some really beautiful things on there (including louboutins that I’ve always wanted but could never justify buying new!)

I’ve just bought a sweaty Betty sweatshirt and a hush sweatshirt, both are like new, £10 from the same seller. I buy pretty much all my gymshark gym gear on there. I’ve sold some bits too, I find it easy and simple for selling as long as you have a printer!

Yes, myself and a few parents bought our DD's y6 prom dresses from there last year. Couldn't find anything we wanted in the shops and found simple, but lovely little dresses on vinted that fit perfectly.

tigerbear · 18/02/2023 08:08

I’m on there nearly every day!
bought loads, but biggest bargain was a new Joseph leather trench coat for £100. Would have been over £1k in a shop.
I tend to focus on brands where the fabrics and quality is good, so even if the items aren’t new with tags, I know that they’ll still be in decent condition.

usually buy Joseph, Maxmara, Gerard Darel, Marella, Jigsaw, Massimo Dutti, Jaeger.

whosaidtha · 18/02/2023 08:13

I sold about £100 worth of stuff and then spent it all. Everything has been great so far. My only complaint is that baby stuff sells so cheap. I've got brand new with tags stuff that my baby never got chance to wear and am having to sell for £2. It's hardly worth it. Adult stuff sells much better.

Bemyclementine · 18/02/2023 08:16

Yes!! I've bought a lovely cable knit jumper bnwt £8 instead of £65. Shirt £6 instead of £45 , gilet £10 instead of£60.

Becka2109 · 18/02/2023 08:20

I love Vinted! I buy all the children's bits on there, I sell things on mine as well. I've probably made about £400/500 in about 6 months just selling bits and pieces!

Blanketunderstars · 18/02/2023 08:24

Love Vinted, I sell stuff on there and buy also. And if I’m fed up with something I just sell it on.

Lkydfju · 18/02/2023 08:25

I pretty much bought a summer wardrobe of oasis and warehouse dresses for £5-8 each last year which were perfect condition and I’ve bought great jackets off there too. If it’s not in good condition you can easily send it back and get a refund but I’ve never needed to. Much better money wise and for the environment; game changer for me

mycatsanutter · 18/02/2023 08:28

I live Vinted , it's so addictive , that reminds me need to post DH's trainers and collect sons football boots , swapping one for another , it's great

BooCrew · 18/02/2023 08:29

I buy most of my son's clothes and quite a few of mine on Vinted and eBay - always have. People are really weird about second hand, I don't get it at all.

mumofthemonsters808 · 18/02/2023 08:33

I’ve recently come on board, I bought a coat for a tenner, I thought it either won’t turn up or it won’t be upto much. it arrived a few days later and is brand new, it’s perfect, I keep getting asked where it’s from.

AnnaMagnani · 18/02/2023 08:35

I had to stop, I was getting carried away.

My best purchase is a new with tags designer dress for £20 which would have been about £500.

I've used it to go up a level in shopping to designers I can't afford new.

Dotdotdot19 · 18/02/2023 08:40

I've bought some maternity bits and pieces from there and so far I have been fairly pleased. And I have my eye on some stuff for my DD and DH but am waiting until I go through their wardrobes in case they don't actually need it.

I'm thinking about selling stuff we dont use but am uncertain as to how it works and how easy it would be.

bananafishbones1 · 18/02/2023 08:45

It's addictive, I absolutely love it. Just bought a pure cashmere cardigan for £5! I've bought DH several Ralph Lauren shirts and jumpers to upgrade his wardrobe too. Teenage daughter is a fan too.

Whiteminnowfish · 18/02/2023 09:04

I absolutely LOVE Vinted. I've bought loads of clothes and shoes. All are in excellent quality and are delivered fairly quick.

AlrightJulia · 18/02/2023 09:04

I use it a lot for buying and selling. Don't need a printer as I select 'print label in shop' if using a parcelshop or buy Royal Mail postage online and select collect from home with the option that they bring the label. So much easier!

WinterFoxes · 18/02/2023 09:06

I got a lovely biker jacket. I've wanted one for years but could never justify the expense. DS said, try Vinted and I got one for £7. It was second hand but in good condition and it arrived next day.

lucysmam · 18/02/2023 09:15

I love Vinted! The majority of my work wardrobe is from there - mostly £1-£5 jumper bargains at the mo. For that price, it doesn't matter if I spend the morning painting, or in the mud, with the dc at work & get it all over myself too (I have been known to do this 🙈).

Have had some fab purple suede Radley boots for £8 too, and some funky Clarks boots for about the same. Dd2 calls them my witchy boots. & I'm on the lookout for a pair of knee high boots but nothing's jumped out at me yet.

I have a small pile of things I want to try and sell as well...just need to get round to taking photos/uploading them. I'd like to make enough to cover train fares to York for the Christmas market.

BodyShapeWoes · 18/02/2023 09:17

I kitted both my kids out for £25 for Wedding party we went to..these were worn once or brand new with tags and Ted Baker for kids stuff.

I haven’t used it to buy myself anything yet but have plenty in my favourites saved mainly as I’m trying to shift some weight

The only thing I dislike is sellers have 5 days to send something, and most of the time they usually send on the last day, I’ve only had one send within 24 hours!

PetitPorpoise · 18/02/2023 09:18

Yes, I love it and prefer buying second hand to new if I can because I can get better quality for supermarket prices.

I'm on the fat side, so I tend not to get much for myself as I've had too many things be too tight or not suit me. But I buy almost everything for my children on there.

Decafflatteplease · 18/02/2023 09:23

I love it! Both to buy and sell. Second hand eg charity shops has always been our first point of call if we need new clothes etc but it was always hit and miss if you can find what you are looking for whereas on vinted you can filter for exactly what you want and its great! Also getting things delivered to parcel shop saves money compared with home delivery.

I also sell on there, normally 15-20 sales a week. I then use the money back on there.

Blablablablaba · 18/02/2023 09:27

Yes, lots of gd bargains! I used to be the same about second hand clothes. I'd never dream of buying something second hand. Gradually over the years I've went from new with tags, to new without tags, to excellent condition and so on.

There been a few times I've received stuff that was terrible but on eBay and I claimed the money back. Most stuff I've had had been really good.

Vinted is so cheap which is why I don't sell on there. I still sell on eBay as u get a lot more for the item. People sell stuff really cheaply on vinted. I got my little girl a monsoon dress last week, new with tags for £4 was about £7-8 with delivery and fees.

I discovered it nearly 2yrs ago and have had some amazing stuff for myself and my kids. Even got some book ends for my youngest room and they were brand new in the box and again quite cheap!

TetherEndOfMy · 18/02/2023 09:51

I buy 99% of mine and my son's clothes on vinted. Never had a problem and have used it for a while. Over 100 purchases. Bought about 10 different scandi t shorts for him the other day ready for summer at about £1 each. They're £20 brand new and they arrived yesterday. All in perfect condition. Buying second hand is great for your wallet and the environment!
