2 teens going to Alexander Palace alone for concert, what is safest way to travel into London after, how do you book taxis

Sorry we live miles away and they’re going on an adventure.😳Sorted it all themselves but not keen on going on tube for 40 mins back to their hotel in Kensington as worried about safety. How much would a taxi be and what is best place to book?

Yes I’ll be getting zero sleep that night.

You can’t get a tube from Ally Pally, there’s a train station but it won’t be running at that time. They can download Uber, or one of the other taxi apps. What time does the concert finish? They could pre-book a cab with Addison Lee. Can they change their hotel, seems silly have to go all the way out West afterwards? Lots of accommodation near the venue.

I honestly wouldn’t get a cab after a large event purely because it’s going to be mayhem with everybody else trying to do similarly: roads closed, cabs delayed, cabs not being able to stop nearby for pickup, cabs phoning and asking them to walk to a nearby location where they can pickup etc and if they don’t know the area that’s going to cause them a lot more stress and worry than getting the train and tube, which will be busy and perfectly safe.

Is it a week night or weekend? Alexandra Palace station will get them to Finsbury Park, where they can pick up the Victoria line (which runs all night Fridays and Saturdays) to then either get an Uber from Victoria station to their hotel or to connect with the District of Circle line to Kensington.

That's a nightmare journey to be honest I'd say about an hour and a half depending on where in kensington.

The w3 bus goes to Wood Green Station but it's not the "safest area" or they could walk into muswell hill and get the 134/43 to Highgate station, that's on the northern line.

The map city mapper is great. They would probably be best walking with the crowd into muswell hill and getting an uber off one of the residential streets like Dukes Avenue.

There’s no tube very close, but they could get the train from Ally Pally and change onto the Piccadilly Line at Finsbury Park to go to Kensington.

Yeah, Kensington is a bizarre place to stay! Trains from Alexander Palace station should still be running at that time though.

They’ll be absolutely fine! I think they’d be best off sticking to train/tube rather than wandering around looking for buses and Ubers.

Ah i always forget about the rail station, this says there is an 11:15 train at night. If they can get to the station in time I think they run fairly frequently.

Nearest Tube is Wood Green, then they'd need a bus to AllyPally - I think it's the W3.

TfL say it's about an hour to 90 minutes by public transport at that time if night whether by bus or combination bus and tube. A taxi will be absolutely exorbitant for that journey.

They'd be better off staying somewhere more central and north like Kings Cross.

You can catch the W7 bus to Finsbury Park tube or the 43 and a number of others go to Highgate tube from Ally Pally.

They should download CityMapper.

If you download that app I suggested you can put their hotel address in and it gives you end to end journey options.

They will be fine, don't worry. I lived in London since I was 19 and on my own. Tubes are safe in the evening, I used to travel around 10pm on the tube after my work.

As others have said, train to Finsbury Park then tube to Ken. Perfectly safe.

Don't use Wood Green Tube or go to Wood Green or Turnpike Lane area- they are fine but probably not as safe as other areas. Use buses to Finsbury Park or Highgate tubes stations.

Don't bother with the overland trains as they'll never make that 11.15 one on time with everyone leaving and they are too limited.

They are 18/19 though! I thought you were going to say 14/15!
