If the Aliens come

So reading about an unidentified aircraft being shot down again. I know it's probably Chinese aircraft but I'm wondering what the world / MNers would do if Aliens do in future arrive ? I personally think we aren't evolved enough to comprehend contact with another species. It should be kept hidden if there is alien life. We spend a lot of time fighting and destroying each other for small bits of land. I hope if it is friendly Aliens they cease trying to contact and wait for another few hundred years.

Scared people are compliant.
Real alien ships would not be shot down by earthlings, if they have the technology to cross the universe I’m 100% sure they could avoid detection and human weapons.
The US government and military have been drip feeding ufo stuff for the last couple of years, my money is on them having some dastardly plan up their sleeve.

The most STUPID thing the human race has done is send Voyager and its golden record into space. It has precise directions to Earth. Its unfathomably dumb. Any civilisation advanced enough to act on it, and find us, isn't going to end well. Maybe it IS a wildlife park set up by Aliens?

They come and have a look at us every so often to see how we are getting on.

Unfortunately we could be on the menu. Or our planet is packed with valuable resources a la Independence Day. War of the Worlds where it's conquest or Battleship/Battle L.A., more conquest. If it was ET it would be straight to the Med Lab. Star Trek First Contact had a darker opposite in Enterprise where we stormed the Vulcan ship and became a v.war like species conquering other worlds. Don't think we are ready for First Contact. I mean who goes, Boris or Liz Truss? Trump? I presume there is a first contact protocol but there'll be a Doomsday one as well. Think Stargate.

Interesting that when the term UFO is used, most of us associate it with Aliens. But having listened to the news today, Unidentified Flying Object - could of course be all sorts of things perfectly explanatory !
Nothing mysterious at all.
They just use that term .
