Never had one before so don't know what's worth having and what isn't in terms of features. Definitely not looking for a wi-fi connected model. £700 is our limit, including delivery and we would like a C energy rating if possible (I think a B or A will be out of our price range). What brands are best for longevity as that's probably top of the list? Do you prefer a basket or upper tray for cutlery? I've been searching online for weeks and getting more and more flummoxed as to what we should get so would really appreciate some recommendations of great dishwashers or warnings about what to avoid! 😬

If you’re short on time, here’s a summary of the dishwasher brands Mumsnetters are recommending on this thread:

🏆 Bosch Series 6 SMS6ZCW00G Wifi Connected Standard Dishwasher, £649 - the dishwasher the OP opted for

🧽 Indesit D2FHK26UK Standard Dishwasher, £279

🍽 Hisense HV673B60UK Wifi Connected Fully Integrated Standard Dishwasher, £569

Plus for a deeper dive into the wonderful world of kitchen appliances, don't miss our guide to the best dishwashers according to Mumsnetters.

I bought a Miele washing machine three years ago and even on offer with £200 off it cost me £1200, tbf its never made a murmur or let us down its just brill, moving forwards we need a decent dishwasher cause the 2.5 year old hotpoint is dead! it only cost me around £300 and at the time id just forked out for other expensive items so was budget limited, I've got my eye on a Bosch SMS6ZCW10G which some retailers (One in particular) are stating it was almost a grand but even Bosch has it for sale for £680 was £750 so not sure why the retailers is fabricating prices more so when they have great reviews? anyways. this dishwasher has almost everything for £680 which is enough to spend on such a machine, i'd advice people who have a more generous budget to avoid the cheaper companies as the white goods of today last 5 minutes with the cheaper ones...

Whilst failing miserably (just plain miserable, TBH) to cope with washing up in the Utility Room sink during New kitchen Hell, we threw in the towel and bought a used Miele dishwasher with a top cutlery tray, with the plan to offload it to our offspring (new home) when the new appliances take over. Its internal layout gave us the chance to try the different format (our old DW died, but had a basket in the lower drawer).
We really don't get on with the tray (fiddly, not enough room for tall glasses and plates, and I'm not changing either just to suit a poorly laid-out racking system) and have decided that the new new DW will have a basket.

Big Q: What models are available with a basket? Or do I just buy a tray one, take it out and move the top drawer up, which seems a waste to me (is there a market for unwanted cutlery trays)?

I await the bestowal of the collective MN wisdom!

:)

Looking at Bosch Series 6 and similar, integrated.
