Are you drying your laundry outside in this weather? (South of England)

We live in the South of England. Today the outside temperature here is 8 degrees C. It's dry. Would my laundry dry if I were to hang it outside? I usually dry it in the conservatory on an airer. It takes two days. But I was wondering whether placing the airer in the garden would speed things up if it's not raining. But is it too cold, even though it's dry, for laundry to dry outside?

What are you guys doing at the moment?

So far so good. Towels drying well, sheets flapping and smelling of surf tropical 😀.

I'll be doing another load at the weekend so, weather permitting, I'll try again!

2 loads dried today in Devon. Decent breeze even though it has been grey at times. Put washing on a long line at 8am, brought it in at 3.45 and everything, including towels are completely dry. Windy days are great!

I wonder if on days when it's too damp/wet outside, a fan pointed at the laundry may help!

Yorkshire here too. I put my bed linen out yesterday and it was mostly dry, very windy

Not sure you'd be saving over using the tumble dryer if you are running a fan for several hours. Let alone the faff of extn cables etc getting it outside.

We had ours outside the other weekend when it was 4 degrees, I thought it was silly, DH insisted. Have to admit that on this rare occasion DH was right and it was well on the way to dry after a few hours!

I've dried all winter on possible days in Somerset. thankfully have a rayburn to fold and finish off on top off. DryTime site is great for spotting drying weather, otherwise it's a dehumidifier indoors.
