I've got one guess left came on here to see if anyone else was struggling or if I'm being really thick and it's really obvious

Loved that!! Think is harder to lose streak on hard mode cos you have to use the letters. I actually think hard mode is possibly easier?! Thoughts welcome 😂

In theory you should never lose your streak if not in hard mode.
I think hard mode is more difficult.

Do you mean it is statistically possible for all 5 letter words to be identified in 6 turns? I know there are stats relating to starting words and average no. of turns taken by computer doing wordle etc. Has a program shown that it's possible to always find a solution?

I keep meaning to turn on hard mode because that's the way I do it anyway except for when I'm not concentrating and put the same letter in the same wrong place.

I realise that my question doesn't really make sense. Because of course all words could be guessed in 1 go!
I suppose I'm asking how that translates into the theory we should never lose a game?

I love to use an elimination line when the going gets tough. I think it's more difficult in hard mode.

I haven't had an easy run of Wordle in ages. Come on, Wordle gods! Give me a break :)

I agree Fuzzy I like having the option of elimination words or simply a 2nd 'starter word' if you choose.

A second starter word is a good idea @RegainingTheWill2023 I'll keep it in mind.

For a long time I had 'train' as my starter word. If it didn't give a good start I'd use 'house' next which added the remaining vowels and a couple of useful consonants. I got a 1 from 'train' and carried on using it for a while afterwards but have changed it up more since then.
But I have to say my stats were better in those early days. I had equal 3s and 4s up to about 100 games but now have more 4s than 3s (374 games in). 🙄

I don’t know of any research on hard mode, but I think it’s more difficult and not necessarily always possible. Perhaps it is if you’re very clever.
