Cheapest way to buy toilet roll - Amazon?

Has anyone done an analysis?
I’m wondering about buying in bulk with Subscribe & Save every few months.
Anyone else do this?

Who Gives a Crap is supposed to be good

Bimbleberries · 22/01/2023 10:19

uk.whogivesacrap.org/

supports toilet building in places that need it as well.

Betterthing · 22/01/2023 10:23

I’ve seen it is good & it’s great to be ethical. But is it the cheapest? I need to keep to a strict budget over next few months…

I used to subscribe and save to Andrex via Amazon but lately the price seems to have gone up a lot. Apparently its all to do with the price of cardboard.

I like Ocodo own brand, or the double own brand rolls from Tesco seem good and last longer.

The who gives a crap subscription seems like a good idea though.

Is it cheap? I ve looked at it before and it seemed expensive

BarbaraofSeville · 22/01/2023 10:29

Amazon is usually expensive for groceries. WGAC also expensive.

Costco is probably the cheapest if you can get a membership. You'd have to decide whether paying the fee is worth it, if you can save money on the things you buy - some things are cheaper, others not always.

Nicky is also often mentioned as cheap but good. Sold in Home Bargains, Farm Foods and the like.

lenalemonade · 22/01/2023 10:30

Who gives a crap ...I have got this on subscription .
It looks expensive but the rolls are longer and I save by not popping into the shop and coming out with £20 of other things I didn't plan to buy Grin

MyMumhasDementia · 22/01/2023 10:31

I had a delivery of WGAC and didn’t like it. It felt like the cheap supermarket own brand just wrapped individually.
I keep an eye out for Amazon deals but like Sainsbury’s double length.

Dillydollydingdong · 22/01/2023 10:31

£1.75 for 4 in Lidl.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 22/01/2023 10:32

Aldi

trulyunruly01 · 22/01/2023 10:32

I have mine delivered by Amazon Prime, 45 rolls every 3 months £21.09 (I have 3 bathrooms to stock). I think that's about 46p a roll. It's the Presto brand which seems absolutely fine.

I get most of my household stuff on subscribe and save - toilet and kitchen rolls, washing and dishwashing stuff, antibac wipes, some toiletries. You can review and/or cancel up to a couple of days before despatch so easy to change if you find a better deal.

ThreeB · 22/01/2023 10:33

I used bother.com to stock up. Their 9 packs of Andrex are cheaper than they are in the supermarkets and with a discount/referral code they come in even better.

Thisisnotmyname2022 · 22/01/2023 10:33

i was looking for the exact same thing last night. I have previously used Amazon for Andrex but the cost kept going up. My next order will be 90 rolls £25 from groupon. Not tried this brand yet but that should last a good few months.

Xrays · 22/01/2023 10:35

Bulk buy from B and M. Super cheap if you get whatever is on offer. They had a pack of 20 the other day for about £3 I think. I got loads. You just have to be super strict with yourself not to buy other stuff whilst you’re there that you don’t need!

We paid £30 for 24 who gives a crap rolls.

They lasted more than 6 months in our family of 4 (3 males, if it's relevant).

I think they are much longer than standard supermarket rolls

Lordofthebutterfloofs · 22/01/2023 10:36

Aldi double length toilet roll

Lasts us 2 weeks in average. Family of 4. Husband prolific shitter

Xrays · 22/01/2023 10:36

I get Cheeky Panda on amazon subscribe and save. It's prob not the cheapest, but im happy to pay a little bit more for the convenience, ethical brand and comfortable product.

JamMakingWannaBe · 22/01/2023 10:40

Check prices via trolley.co.uk.

I actually find Iceland good for bulk (24 and 32) packs of toilet roll. It's Cushelle or Velvet so not thin cheap 2ply stuff.

evemillbank · 22/01/2023 10:43

I think it's cheaper to buy it from Tesco.

BadgerLovesMash · 22/01/2023 10:47

I buy the Andrex on subscribe and save from amazon. Usually around £18 for 45.

I dont buy cheap toilet roll as we go through it twice as quick and sounds really silly but it gives off loads of dust which drives me mad!!

BG2015 · 22/01/2023 10:48

Home Bargains or BM are the cheapest I find

Yayyayitsaholiholiday · 22/01/2023 10:50

We do the Amazon subscription, but partly due to the convenience of not having to remember to buy loo roll and then lug it back home with all the other shopping.

Tamarindtree · 22/01/2023 10:51

Use leaves or old clothing cut into rags?
