Has anyone done an analysis?
I’m wondering about buying in bulk with Subscribe & Save every few months.
Anyone else do this?

Home Bargains or BM are the cheapest I find

I agree with this!

I think they both do 18 rolls for less than a fiver.

SheWoreYellow · 22/01/2023 10:57

Work out the price per 100 sheets though, sometimes the price of cheap is not really much better than the more expensive stuff.

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/01/2023 10:58

Cheapest we’ve found is in Home Bargains, if you have one nearby.

Through Groupon link - 90 rolls £24.50

IncessantNameChanger · 22/01/2023 11:01

We are a family of six. I got mine from Costco. I get my laundry stuff from there too. To save even more money I let the membership lapse and I'm going to go with my mate and use her card next month to stock up.

Whitney168 · 22/01/2023 11:02

Definitely don't judge WGAC by the number of rolls - they are much more densely packed, last ages.

searchingforme · 22/01/2023 11:04

we usually use Sainsbury’s cushioned loo roll it’s gone up to £4:50 for 9! So need to find a cheaper alternative that doesn’t disintegrate and cause clitty litter! If you know you know lol 😂 help!

Sadless · 22/01/2023 11:04

I get mine from farm foods its 4 packs of 18 for £22 was £12 last year. But its good toilet roll and if I go and get other things I use a voucher from there website to get some money off.

I buy the 24 pack at £6.89 from Aldi.
I find it actually better quality than andrex.

Betterthing · 22/01/2023 11:07

Thanks for suggestions! Great list here.
I have Amazon credits so could use those if possible, but will look into supermarkets & spend credits on other things.

We buy one of the Tesco value brands which are 24 for about £7 and are geat quality. Can't remember the name though!

BarbaraofSeville · 22/01/2023 11:11

WGAC is £44 for 48 rolls of 400 sheets, so 22.9 p per 100 sheets

Costco Kirkland is about £16 for 40 rolls of 240 sheets so 16.7 p per 100 sheets
Obviously need to account for the membership fee, but many people will save more than that compared with shopping elsewhere.

Need to do similar sorts of calculations when comparing other products - some rolls will have only around 150 sheets.

We've bought Costco for years and it seems very good. We ran out once during the pandemic, couldn't get any more and bought Andrex or similar and was horrified how expensive it was, how poor the quality seemed and how little time it lasted.

Dfg15 · 22/01/2023 11:15

I used WGAC for a long time, but cancelled it recently as it seemed much thinner and crumbled a lot, and they use EVRI for delivery.

Now trying Bumboo, which seems be OK, it’s currrently £22.80 for 24. Looking at some of the alternatives on this thread though and might have a rethink

Joytotheworld88 · 22/01/2023 11:26

I get Amazon own brand toilet roll on subscribe and save. I'm not sure how the price compares because I buy it for other reasons (convenience, eco friendly). It's recycled and better quality than other eco toilet papers I've tried. I've had problems getting hold of recycled toilet paper in supermarkets, Amazon is reliable.

Agapornis · 22/01/2023 11:35

Certainly not the cheapest, and Who Gives A Crap is also no more ethical than any other brand: It's made in China and shipped over, unlike most of the UK brands which are made in the UK partly/entirely from your own bin's recycled paper. Don't buy WGAC if you're looking for low carbon emissions and good working conditions.

I bloody hate brands claiming they are 'ethical' when that means fuck all.

GodisaBC · 22/01/2023 12:28

I tried who gives a crap but it was so thin I never used it again.

OldTinHat · 22/01/2023 12:30

B&M £2.99 for nine rolls!

Riapia · 22/01/2023 13:04

Halve the expense if you use both sides.

That's interesting. I get Cheeky Panda, so will look into their supply chain. Thanks for this info.

Groupon is the cheapest

Iluvfriends · 22/01/2023 13:24

Little Duck toilet roll from Farmfoods.
18 rolls for £5.50 (£6.50) can't remember. Or 4 packs for £22.

It's gone up by £10, it was £12 for 4 packs some months ago. Still worth it though.

roses2 · 22/01/2023 13:39

Groupon is 0.0019 per sheet
Amazon is 0.0029 per sheet

I've bought both. Amazon is the best quality I've found. Freedom is OK. Depends on how much you use if Amazon is worth paying the extra for.

Who gives a crap was stocked in a nice b&B we stayed in. DH complained you could accidentally end up wiping your arse with your hand it's so thin.

I don't rate it and its not cheap.

Aldi is good value. We use the thicker good quality stuff though. I am always horrified by lidl prices for andrex and their cheap stuff is awful. Never buy loo roll from lidl

icebearforpresident · 22/01/2023 14:27

We use WGAC but the bamboo rolls, not the recycled paper. I tried a batch of the recycled and it is very thin, the bamboo is thicker and lasts forever.

Nearly a £ a roll, that can't possibly be right 😮
