Is there a posh UK version of butlins?

I do actually like Butlins before anyone comes for me! And recommend it.

But my parents in law want to go away with the kids. Due to their ill health it must be in the UK. Kids are older end of primary and somewhere with activities, a pool.

Have liked that Butlins had breakfast/dinner included, I'm thinking it would be better for everyone to get on if we weren't cooking etc.

Realise as I'm typing I'm probably talking of centre parcs but it's just never appealed, and I'm afraid it might encourage too much time stuck in the cabin?

Ideas welcome!

Why has CP not appealed? That will help with answer

LIZS · 22/01/2023 10:02

Bluestone?
Manor and Ashbury hotels in Devon

Carolwithane · 22/01/2023 10:03

Ribby Hall nr Blackpool

LadyLyndon · 22/01/2023 10:03

Daylesford. Can’t get more posh than that.

Randobelia · 22/01/2023 10:04

Criefd hydro? Macdonald at Aviemore?

Hertsdad5 · 22/01/2023 10:05

this is a question I’ve always faced…CP is good for young kids but v expensive, not luxury and not chilled. Hoseasons has quite a few luxury lodge sites that feel perhaps more premium. Obviously there are posh hotels Cowley manor, nice one in New forest forgot name. Try habitat escapes - sites in Cotswolds and dorset. I found it to be both chilled and more luxurious than CP.

Well it's not exactly push but it's a good alternative, Potters Resort. It's all inclusive, the food is lovely and the drunks are v nice. Kids all had a great time, entertainment good on the whole although the compère was too 70's 'comedian' for my tastes.

BigFloppa · 22/01/2023 10:06

Bluestone

Branleuse · 22/01/2023 10:07

I would look up an all inclusive hotel with pool, but i think if you want what butlins has, you probably need to just do butlins

vinoandbrie · 22/01/2023 10:11

Another Place perhaps?

Are there any all inclusive sun the UK?!

ittakes2 · 22/01/2023 10:22

I think if you do CP just get a cabin close to the pool so its easier to go

saturdaymorningbored · 22/01/2023 10:22

Crieff hydro

dontknowwasmadetoknow · 22/01/2023 10:29

I think potters resort is probably what your looking for.

All inclusive nice food and branded drinks.

Lots of different activities all included in the price you initially pay. Activities in include segways, rally carts, inflatable assault course, table tennis, archery, climbing wall, vertical reality room, arts and crafts, crazy golf, quizzes, dance classes, clay pigeon shooting and so many more I can't remember off the top of my head.

If you go in the school holidays they do family break and there is something going on for all ages.

We take our family with a age range from 3- 83 and everyone has a great time. They cater well for large groups and lots of multi generation families go.

You are allocated a table in the dinning room for your whole party and that is your table for the whole break so no need to queue for a table. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and then a midnight meal if you want it and sometimes cheese and biscuits in the evening.
It's not cheap so might seem expensive but is value for money as once your there you won't spend any money unless you want to play bingo.

Ursula82 · 22/01/2023 10:33

Op, if you’re a lover of Butlins, does that mean you have a Butlins budget? No point posters suggesting places that are multiples of your budget if so.

so best to indicate your budget

dontknowwasmadetoknow · 22/01/2023 10:34

I should add if you decide on potters resort you want the one in Hopton on sea as they have recently opened a se one resort in Essex but I don't think it's quite up to the standard of Hopton.

“The drunks are very nice”

So perhaps has more in common with Butlins than I originally thought

CremeEggThief · 22/01/2023 10:37

Why not just go to Butlins if it's where you enjoy? Is it because you don't think it's as accessible or similar reason for the elderly?

middleager · 22/01/2023 10:37

Been to several of those listed, but Butlins is my favourite. Have had far better times than at CPs. The inlaws - in their 70s - preferred Butlins too.

Would you not consider the Butlins hotel at Bognor, all inclusive, or the nice lodges at Minehead, for example? At the Butlins hotel you get to dine in the hotel and exclusive early access to the pool etc.

DuchessOfDisco · 22/01/2023 10:39

I’d just book a nice hotel (with pool) and take day trips instead. Windsor is nice as you can do grown up things like visit the castle, or head to legoland.

middleager · 22/01/2023 10:42

We also had a good time at the TLH resort in Devon. So much for the kids to do, although I would not describe it as posh.

Ha this, assume it’s a better class of drunk lol

feelingrubbish2023 · 22/01/2023 10:45

Potters in Norfolk, meals are all included (it's table service) loads of activities and shows for young and old. It has a hotel and cabins...it's essentially the closest you'll get to Hi De Hi but in a posh, good way!

SoupAndSodaBread · 22/01/2023 10:46

I have heard Butlins is alright these days.

But alternatively you could try Centre Parcs or Bluestone in Wales or any of the forest park places with facilities on site. We went to one in Cornwall called Deer Park and it was nice. No pool, but had activities and hot tubs
