What type of cosmetic surgery is this? (pic)

I've seen several 'sleb pics recently that feature what looks like a tight line under the skin from the side of the mouth and across the cheeks. I don't think it's cheek filler because the lines look too straight & tight. Do you know what type of surgery causes it? If I didn't know better I'd say there was a thread inside pulling the mouth up at the corners.

It's called the Joker.

DietCock · 20/01/2023 19:24

Fucking hell. That doesn't look like me idea of a joke. It looks as if someone has been brutalised.

Clarabe1 · 20/01/2023 19:27

I have spotted this! I don’t think this can be the look they were looking for?? I would like to know as well

Suzi888 · 20/01/2023 19:27

Facelift, fillers, Botox, threading x 1,000 procedures.

gravyriceandchips · 20/01/2023 19:30

All of it

TheSnugglyDuckling · 20/01/2023 19:31

Priscilla Presley has the same. I’m also curious to know what it is.

YukoandHiro · 20/01/2023 19:32

Looks like a Chelsea smile 😬

InFiveMins · 20/01/2023 19:34

I'd say buccal fat removal.

PeachDelany · 20/01/2023 19:39

Yes you're right, Priscilla Presley did have it too.

Paste an abstract below. Basically, some faces have structures that tend towards having tightness mouth to ear. After surgery? This pronounced like can appear exaggerated into a 'joker smile'.

Despite plastic surgeons' best efforts, deformities can be seen following a face lift. One of the most obvious signs of face-lift surgery is the cross-cheek depression or "joker line," which begins as an indentation in the region of the oral commissure and extends laterally and superiorly toward the ear. When this depression develops postoperatively, the face can appear harsh, pulled, and abnormal, creating a visual illusion that the corner of the mouth extends laterally onto the cheek. There is a relationship between the preoperative contours of a patient and the postoperative ones. Most patients who develop cross-cheek depressions postoperatively exhibit a version of the problem preoperatively. Inspection and light finger traction on the cheeks identifies and intensifies the abnormal configuration. The clinician needs to be aware of the propensity for this complication preoperatively, as anticipation is the first step toward prevention and treatment. The most specific treatment for the surgical accentuation of cross-cheek depressions is the use of volume to fill the areas of unnatural depression, either intraoperatively or postoperatively.

The kind you get done at Jim Henson's Creature Shop?

itswednesdayy · 20/01/2023 19:43

Sorry but the line isn’t even the main issue here. Why does the face look SO uncanny? There’s nothing wrong with the cheeks for example but they look so puffy and ageing although they’re full and line free

megletthesecond · 20/01/2023 19:47

Possibly buccal fat removal. It will quickly be the most regretted surgery IMO. Young women look awful with it.

itswednesdayy · 20/01/2023 19:50

I feel like masseter Botox can give similar results to buccal fat removal

greenspaces4peace · 20/01/2023 19:53

i believe this is jocelyn wildenstein
she is well known for her cosmetic surgeries and her history of work is easily found on the web.
it's sad, and to me, a reflection of serious mental health challenges.
i've not read her life story but surely all is not rosy when someone chooses this path.

That woman has had surgery for decades. It's probably a combination of face lift, cheek fillers, eye lift, Botox, lip fillers. I don't think it's just "one" treatment.

This is what she used to look like...

Jocelyn Wilderstien started having facelifts when they at the very experimental stage, and not much thought was given to how they would age

It’s just too many facelifts designed to make her look ‘good’ in the short term but grotesque after a few more years of aging

itswednesdayy · 20/01/2023 20:03

She’s 82?? No wonder she looks bizarre, it’s like part of her face is ageing uncontrollably whilst the rest is frozen

Oh, she was beautiful. She looks as though she would have aged beautifully too. That's so sad.

Ohyoudodoyou · 20/01/2023 20:12

She is probably one of the most famous early users of plastic surgery, still alive and kicking and living! Have a look at these two, they lived a strange life and died within a week of each other not that long ago...Grichka and Igor Bogdanoff.
Cannot understand what drives good looking (and normal looking) people to distort their faces to this extent. Not talking about lip filler and botox but this level of mutilation.
