Tell me about period pants please

DD has just turned 12 and has started her period today. She’s keen to try period pants but there are so many brands to choose from that I don’t know where to start. What brand would you recommend, ideally ones that aren’t £30 per pair? Also, how many pairs would you recommend?

With the period pants, do they have to be close form fitting? I like my pants with a bit of room so will always size up. Will that create issues?!

They do seem to fit slightly more snugly, I think to avoid moving around and so leaking at the side of the gusset etc. You wouldn’t want them too roomy.

Thank you both! 😊

@SirVixofVixHall , my daughter uses reusable pads often with Modibodis. There are loads of options online. Precious Stars do a budget range which has really worked well for her.

Thanks bellini I will have a look at precious stars. My experience of pads has been that they slip backwards on me, so I haven’t bothered buying them for my dds, but probably worth a try.
She does find the ModiBodi ones fine for a school day, but not the Love Luna.

I ended up buying 2 pairs of Intimawear by Bodyform as that’s all my Sainsburys had in her size yesterday. She’s trying them out today for the first time and if she likes them I’ll buy a couple of multipacks from Primark or M&S. She seems pretty heavy so she’s trying the tip someone suggested of wearing a pad this morning then removing that and just wearing the pants for the rest of the day.

uniqlo for heavy flow.
if you choose other pants make sure the waterproof part has good coverage in the front area.

tbh they are a total gamechanger.

M&S shorts are good too, I front sleep and the absorpt layer goes right up front and back
