Today I just feel utterly bleak.

Music. Good book. Bake something lovely. Message a friend. Paint my nails.

Sorry you’re feeling low 💐

chocolatebuttonlover · 14/01/2023 18:40

Make a cup of tea, run a bath, watch a comfort show, takeaway - sometimes I just cry it out and then feel a bit better afterwards.

I hope you feel better soon OP Flowers

GoodnightJude1 · 14/01/2023 18:41

I take my dog for a walk. Put on favourite music/film/series.
Call a friend
bake some bread

yorkshirepudsx · 14/01/2023 18:42

I sit and watch funny videos on Instagram, go for walks, have a big tidy/clean of the house (makes me feel like my heads more clear), go shopping for houseplants 🌱🥰

Detectorists · 14/01/2023 18:44

A very very long walk (think 3 or 4 hours) with a good podcast or audio book. I'm usually so knackered by the time I get back that it snaps me out of any mood I'm in.

Yesterdaywasntreal · 14/01/2023 19:16

Me too today op. The copious amounts of millionaires mini bites and slice of buttered white toast haven't fixed it! I never eat this sort of food so know this must be serious!

Nowthatlovehasperished · 14/01/2023 19:39

Write a list of "little joys" - anything that you find pleasant.

For example: cup of tea next to the fire, meeting x for coffee etc.

It really helps.

mamaduckbone · 14/01/2023 19:59

Baking or walking, depending on the weather.

Draconis · 15/01/2023 01:09

Chat to friend or sister
Take dc out
Go out with a friend
Make my house nice and clean then relax with some nice food and tv

MissingMoominMamma · 15/01/2023 01:12

Walk the dogs.
Sit with the dogs.
Sit with the cat.
Cook.
Sleep.

NuffSaidSam · 15/01/2023 01:17

Have a little wallow. It's ok to feel shit sometimes. You don't necessarily have to do anything about it, certainly don't put pressure on yourself or fell bad for feeling bad.

After that, a good sleep.

And then if still feeling bleak. Cup of tea, duvet and a comfort podcast/TV show.
Walk for fresh air.
Reach out to a friend.

And sometimes it just needs a bit of time (I always check my dates to see if it's hormonal, which it often is and then you've got the comfort of knowing it will pass in a few days).

LeftyLou · 15/01/2023 04:00

Read a book

Look at photos and videos of Sausage Dogs on social media

Thanks folks. This is uplifting.

I recently discovered Instagram.
I have laughed until I can’t breath and had tears streaming at some of the stuff.
It is easy, simple, not much thought involved pure entertainment from really funny folk.

That and podcasts in the bath. Joy, pure joy.

BCBird · 15/01/2023 06:44

Go for a walk if I can.be bothered. Live in the concrete jungle but the minute park nearby dud the trick yesterday. Trapped nerve in neck, shuffled there, but managed to eventually walk at near normal pace. This did more for me than the copious amount of chocolate I had eaten. Usually I don't bother with the walk. Got plenty to feel.crap about at the moment. Take care.

Bunnynames101 · 15/01/2023 06:59

Sing. After a really rough day I put karaoke tracks on YouTube and torture the neighbors. Intentionally pick songs that give me 'the feels'.
I call it 'getting the yayas out'.

SeatonCarew · 15/01/2023 07:03

Watch Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie to You on youtube.

whatisforteamum · 15/01/2023 07:03

I watch junk tv or put on music.
A hot coffee,a quick walk .
If I feel dreadful I close the blind and sleep and 100% wake up happier.😀

PoniesandProsecco · 15/01/2023 07:03

I like to go to the sweetie shop in the town and do myself a £1 pick and mix bag, counting as I go. That always cheers me up, I'm not sure why haha

MintJulia · 15/01/2023 07:07

Go for a walk or a run. It's more difficult when it's pouring down but put on a raincoat and wellies, and go out. You'll usually find it's not as bad as it looks.

I went yesterday and found snowdrops in flower, catkins on hazel trees, and deer and kestrels. An hour's fresh air usually works for me. It gives me an appetite too, and then food cheers me up some more.

If I can't go out, bath, bed and a new book. Escapism 😊

RambamThankyouMam · 15/01/2023 07:12

A walk to the charity shop to buy a couple of books - preferably Lisa Jewell or someone similar. Then home, sofa, cuppa, cat.

Startwithamimosa · 15/01/2023 07:17

Have a drink with a friend. Mooch and lie on the couch and cry and watch a sad movie. Have a wine and listen to some music. Have a bath. Buy yourself something nice. Call a friend you haven't talked to in a long time. Look at old photos and remember happy memories 💕

Notplayingball · 15/01/2023 07:21

I cleaned a massive cupboard in my house yesterday. I have been avoiding it for months and decided enough was enough. Feel much happier now that it's done. Try tidying something you have put off?

Sling · 15/01/2023 07:25

Funnily enough I also tidy and declutter stuff - its like gaining order in one part of life compensates for the unruly parts!

Also walk, coffee and people watch, pet the dog - all things that just let me sit and be. Being able to let my thoyghts wander often comes up with a solution or at least a next step

MysweetAudrina · 15/01/2023 07:30

Order Sweaty Betty clothes online.
Do a yoga class
Go up the mountains with the dogs
Sit in a clean room with a relaxing candle on my tablet
Snuggle with the dogs
