London visit - which museum please?

We’ve recently done the natural history museum and we aren’t really interested in art.

Can anyone recommend a nice museum to wander around for a few hours please?

What is in the British Museum?

Science museum may be an option, I’ve also seen the Museum of the home advertised.

any other ideas please?

British museum has an amazing ancient Egypt section and lots to see.

The London Transport Museum is right on Covent Garden, so there is plenty to do in the area.

V&A is my favourite.

Another one for V&A. British Museum is usually heaving, but V&A is so big you can usually find at least one fairly quiet bit.

Another vote for British museum. But don't trek round it all. Pick maybe 5 places to go within it.

Not much British stuff. Go and see it before it gets sent back to where it belongs.

it’s just me and DD 19, museum of brands looks fun? And portobello rd market is also nearby for a mooch.

Imperial War Museum

The latter is excellent.

Museum of Brands is great. Cases full of advertising material and brand items(as the name suggests) from the Victorians up to date. A fabulous nostalgic trip.

Ripley believe it or not

The V&A is my favourite - a huge range of different things to look at. I also love the Museum of London, which is really interesting. The Design Museum is also good.

V&A, I did it with my older girls.
The best thing was it wasn't full of little kids, much quieter.

Few years too late for this one. Pretty sure it closed.

Science museum and the V&A.
Handy as they are next to each other.
The Medieval and Renaissance section in the V&A is particularly interesting and extremely well curated.

With a DD aged 19 I'd definitely go to the V&A and look at some of the amazing fashion they have there.

With kids I'd always go first to the Science museum. It's brilliant fun and very interactive.

Not sure if you're taking children, but the Museum of London was really interesting - it's all about, well, London! - from the earliest settlements that were established there up to the present day. Great for adults and kids. I love the V and A and the Wallace Collection, or Sir John Soane's for something a bit different (maybe not for kids, though).

The museum of fashion in Bermondsey is good and easy to combine with Borough Market.

museum of the home is good and great location for a wander after.

unless you like transport I wouldn’t do the transport museum with a teenager. I like it because it’s great for toddlers as they can’t break anything!!
