Rishi wants the over 50s back to work, which are the companies clamouring for over 50s employees?

I never hear about a shortage of over 50s staff so who are the companies that will absorb this workforce?

Local govt doesn't discriminate. We have loads of older workers and apprentices. It's manageable as well because you can work from home half the week. Can't imagine why anyone who could afford to retire would want to go back to work.

Im happy to work for many years. Im 48 and i have 31 years in public sector admin (government and local government). Im really enjoying the work i do and don’t really want to move jobs again. I work 4 days. There are 2 older than me of about 3-4 years and both would happily retire.

i couldn’t just stop working. I enjoy working. Then if i was a granny id think differently, perhaps help with childcare etc. but stop working just because of a certain age? Nah!

if I was pushed id find a job in my local Tesco!

I have a friend working there and i earn 31p an hour more than her!
